SBI PO Notification 2024: The State Bank of India (SBI) will release SBI PO notification 2024 in September 2024. The application form will be released after the notification is released. SBI PO is one of the most sought-after banking exams in the country. It is a dream job for millions of aspirants across India because of the brand value, lucrative pay scale, and growth opportunities. SBI PO recruitment is conducted to select candidates for the post of Probationary Officers (PO) in various branches of SBI. Candidates recruited to the post of PO will get starting basic pay is INR 41,960 (with 4 advance increments). The selection proces of SBI PO comprises prelims, mains, psychometric test, interview & group exercises.

Q:   What are advantages and disadvantages of SBI PO?

A:
SBI PO is one of the most promising banking careers. However, a career as an SBI PO has some disadvantages as well. Advantages: 1. One of the most attractive parts is the salary as an SBI PO. At present, the basic pay of Junior Scale One is INR 27,620 and this will get four advance increments up to INR 42020 per month. 2. You will be eligible for a variety of other benefits, including DA, HRA, and medical allowance. 3. SBI provides its employees with a lower interest rate on their bank loans. 4. You will enjoy remuneration for leased accommodation, which can be as high as INR 35,000 in metro cities. Your social circle will expand. Your training could be helpful in your future financial planning as well. 6. SBI gives you the opportunity to get promoted directly to the post of Deputy Manager (scale 2) after training. You will be required to pass a cumulative promotion test to get this promotion. Disadvantage: 1. There are frequent postings, including mandatory rural postings, which may be a challenge. Apart from homesickness, frequent challenges may make your work hectic in these postings. 2. You must be an all-rounder who is willing to learn marketing skills as well as the SBI PO. 3. The SBI customer base is very large and the workload associated with it will be high in terms of volume. You will mostly have a hectic schedule and long working hours. 4. Some customers may not be well-behaved, and you have to learn good communication skills to deal with all kinds of customers. 5. Furthermore, your problem-solving skills and patience will be tested as you get promoted.

Q:   Which is better, SBI PO or SBI SO?

A:
The basic difference between SBI SO and SBI PO is that SO is a Specialist Officer and PO is a probationary officer. Both posts are equally good, but the PO post is the most sought after due to the nature of work and the higher number of vacancies. The salary of PO is better than that of PO. The starting salary of a probationary officer is INR 27,620, whereas the salary of a specialist officer is Rs. 23,700 per month. Also, the promotional aspect for PO is comparatively better and one can get promoted to the post of Senior Manager within ten years. On the other hand, the SO is appointed for a specialised task, such as a law officer, and their career begins as scale I officers. One can expect to be promoted to the Scale II officer level after a few years. However, if someone wants to have experience in a particular field, such as HR, and does not want a workload, the SO post is better.

Q:   How SBI PO are posted in the different branches?

A:

On completion of SBI PO exam, candidates are posted to the post of Probationary Officer. During this time, candidates will get a transfer at least thrice between the centres of training. This means there will be three transfers over the course of two-year probationary period. On completion of the probationary period, the officers need to appear for confirmation and promotion test to clear their probation. After passing the test, the probation is considered complete and officers are promoted to the post of Scale 2. candidates mainly get circles based on the circle they applied for before the selection process. Thus, a candidate may apply to a circle where their home town is, but is not necessary that they will get that circle.
