In the wake of COVID-19 pandemic, INET exam for June 2021 session has been cancelled. Selection of candidates will be done based on shortlisting, SSB Interview and medical. Indian Navy has released notification inviting applications for INET SSB Interview. A total of 170 vacancies have been announced for the post of short service commission officers  in the rank of Sub Lieutenant. INET application form 2020 is available from December 18 to 31.

Candidates who have completed their graduation with 60% can apply for the INET exam. Even the final year candidates can also apply. Selected candidates will undergo training at the Indian Naval Academy (INA) Ezhimala, Kerala for Extended Naval Orientation Course-General Service, Naval Orientation Course (NOC) Regular-Naval Armament Inspectorate Cadre/Observer/Pilot/Logistics/Technical (Engineering & Electrical)/ Education, Special NOC – SSC (Executive/Information Technology).

Shortlisting for SSB will be based on the preference of entries and normalised marks obtained by candidates in the qualifying degree. Candidates selected in the final merit list will be required to submit proof of completing the qualifying degree with minimum 60%. Candidates failing to meet the criteria will not be permitted to join the academy.  Approximately 8,300 candidates will be shortlisted for SSB. The SSB Interview will be conducted in February 2021. The merit list will be compiled on the basis of SSB marks and the entry for which candidates have applied. Candidates recommended by SSB and declared medically fit will be appointed for training.
