AFCAT Apply Online 2023: Indian Air Force (IAF) will release release AFCAT 1 application form 2022 on December 1, 2022. The last date to fill the application form is December 30. AFCAT application form is released to select male and female candidates as commissioned officers in Flying and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) branches. AFCAT apply online link is released by the exam conducting authority on its official website, however, the direct link to fill AFCAT online form will be provided on this page. The application fee is INR 250 for all categories and can be paid online.

AFCAT application form correction window is made available after completion of the registration process. Candidates can use the correction window to edit details such as name, father's name, mother's name, photograph, signature, and thumb impression image. No extra fee is charged to edit the details in the application form. 

AFCAT Application Form 2023

AFCAT 1 application form 2023 will be released for Flying Branch and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) branches/NCC Special Entry for courses commencing in January 2024. AFCAT 2 application form 2023 is expected to be released in June 2023. The application form will be released for courses commencing in July 2024. Registered candidates will have to appear for the online test of AFCAT. Those who will qualify the online test will be called for AFSB interview.

How to fill AFCAT Application Form 2023?

Candidates can follow the below-mentioned procedure to fill AFCAT form:

Documents Required to fill AFCAT Application 

Candidates should keep the following documents ready to apply online for AFCAT:

  • Aadhaar Card
  • Credit/Debit cards
  • Marksheets of Class 12 and graduation/diploma/integrated postgraduation
  • Scanned images of photograph, signature, and left thumb impression

Step 1: AFCAT Registration 2023

  • Click on ‘Candidate Login’ on the home page of AFCAT for sign-in
  • Applicants need to select ‘Not yet Registered? Register Here’

  • After successful AFCAT registration, the applicant receives a password on their registered email ID

Step 2: AFCAT Apply Online 

  • Candidates need to login with their registered email ID and password
  • Select the type of entry, AFCAT, NCC Special Entry for Flying Branch
  • Read the instructions carefully
  • Click the checkbox to proceed to the next stage
  • Click ‘Application Form Filling’

Personal Information: Name, father’s and mother’s name (will be auto-filled from the sign-up data), email address, secondary email address, nationality, mobile number, visible identification mark, CPSS/PABT status, CPSS/PABT batch number, CPSS/PABT date of passing, CPSS/PABT chest no, CPSS/PABT attended at which Air Force Selection Board, Select Rank in IAF, service number, currently posted unit, select command, gender, marital status and date of birth. Candidates in the application form are required to fill the following details:

Course Duration (in years)

This should be entered in numeric form

Name of the college

Should be entered in a maximum of 50 characters

Name of University

In a maximum of 50 characters

Date of graduation

In DD/MM/YYYY format

Aggregate/gross percentage

If candidates have a current backlog

Mark it as yes or no

Candidates should enter it in numeric digit

Course Preference: Applicants need to select, Flying, Ground Duty (Technical), Ground Duty (Non-Technical). Candidates who have graduation/post-graduation in Engineering/equivalent technical qualifications are required to appear in EKT. The examination authority reserves the right to allocate branches to candidates as per their suitability and vacancies, irrespective of the choices entered by the candidates.

AFSB/SSB appeared candidates: Candidates need to choose whether passed/failed/not appeared for AFSB/SSB interview. Besides, they need to enter the batch number, the place where they appeared, the number of days.

Source of information for AFCAT: Candidates need to list the source of information from where they came to know regarding the AFCAT exam.

GATE Score: Candidates need to enter their GATE score and the year they appeared in the exam.

Communication Details: Enter permanent and correspondence address in AFCAT application form

  • In the permanent address part, candidates will have to enter the full address, select State/Union Territories, select city, PIN code, nearest railway station, landline number, Aadhaar Card number among others
  • In the correspondence address part, candidates need to enter the full address, state, city, pin code, nearest railway station

Upload Documents: Candidates need to upload the scanned images of their photograph, signature, and Left Thumb Impression (LTI). The specifications related to the uploading of documents are given below:

  • The size of each file should be between 10 KB and 50KB
  • The images should be in JPEG/ JPG

Declaration by the Candidate: Agree to the declaration by clicking the checkbox

Select Exam City: Candidates need to choose five cities based on their preference

Step 3: Paying AFCAT Examination Fees 

  • After filling the AFCAT application form, candidates need to pay INR 250 as examination fees
  • The fees can be paid online through credit/ debit cards/ net banking
  • Candidates need to click ‘Make Payment’ to pay the fees
  • On confirmation from the bank, the payment status will display the registration number
  • Candidates will also receive the confirmation regarding fee payment on their registered email ID and mobile number

AFCAT Salary 2023

The amount of stipend paid during training is INR 56,100 (Starting pay for level 10). This will be paid to both male and female candidates during the period of their training. The duration of training will be 74 weeks for the Flying and Technical branch 52 weeks in case of non-technical branches. The accommodation will be provided by the training authorities during the training period. After successful completion of training period, AFCAT salary of AFA officers will be paid in the first cell of Level 10. The rank-wise AFCAT salary structure is given below:

A. Candidates can edit the details entered in the AFCAT application form through the online correction window made available by IAF.

Q. What if an applicant has submitted more than one AFCAT application form?

A. If an applicant had submitted more than one AFCAT application, only the latest submitted application against a particular Aadhaar Number is considered for the exam. The fee is not refunded.

Q. How to reset the password while AFCAT apply online?

A. Candidates can reset their system-generated password by clicking the required tab while filling AFCAT application form.

Q. I am not able to upload the photograph in the AFCAT application form. What to do?

A: Candidates should upload the photograph between 10 and 50 kb while filling AFCAT application form. The applications with inappropriate photographs are not considered invalid.

Q. How to check the AFCAT payment status?

A. Once the payment process is successful, the system displays the AFCAT registration number. This means that the payment is successful.  

Q. My AFCAT registration ID is not displayed. What to do?

A. Even after successful payment, if AFCAT registration ID is not displayed, then candidates should contact the examination authority.

Q. Will I be allocated branches as per my choices in the AFCAT exam?

A. The right to allocate branches depends on the examination authority as per the availability of AFCAT vacancies.
