Q:   When NDA 2 2023 exam was conducted?

A:

NDA 2 2023 exam was conducted on September 3, 2023 in two shifts-forenoon and afternoon. The exam for the forenoon shift was conducted from 10.00 am to 12:30 pm while the afternoon shift was conducted from 2.00 pm to 4:30 pm. The mode of exam is offline. NDA question paper comprises two subjects-GAT and Maths. The total marks allotted to the exam are 900. Each paper is conducted for 2 hours and 30 minutes. There is also negative marking in the exam. For incorrect answers in the Maths paper, 0.83 marks are deducted. For incorrect answers in the GAT paper, 1.33 marks are deducted. Candidates qualifying the written exam are called for SSB interview. To qualify each section, candidates need to secure 25 per cent.

If any candidate does not receive the NDA admit card one week before the exam or there is an error in the same, they should contact the examination authority immediately. Candidates should carry any one of the following photo-identity proof along with the admit card:

General Instructions for NDA Exam

  • The entry gate closes 10 minutes before the commencement of the exam. For the morning session, the entry closes at 9.50 am while for the afternoon session, the entry closes at 1.50 pm
  • Preserve the admit card till the declaration of the final NDA result 2023
  • Candidates are responsible for the safe custody of their NDA admit cards
  • Mobile phones, calculators, or any other electronic devices are banned inside the exam centre
  • Candidates should bring a black point pen for marking the answers
  • Candidates whose photograph is not clearly printed on NDA admit card should bring photo-identity proof and three passport-sized photographs for each session of the exam with an undertaking
  • Candidates are advised to visit their NDA exam centre at least one day in advance to avoid any hassle on the day of the exam
  • Use of normal or simple wrist watches is allowed inside the exam hall. Smartwatches are strictly prohibited
  • Wearing a mask is mandatory for all candidates
  • Candidates without a mask will not be allowed entry into the exam centre
  • Candidates need to remove their masks for verification 
  • Carry a personal bottle of small sanitiser (transparent bottle)
  • Social distancing, as well as personal hygiene, should be maintained inside the exam centre

NDA Exam Pattern

NDA exam pattern is such that it is divided into written exam and SSB interview. The written exam of NDA is divided into two papers-Maths and General Ability Test. The written exam carries objective-type questions. The GAT paper carries 150 questions and Maths paper carries 120 questions. The GAT paper is further divided into two parts-English and General Knowledge. Each paper of the written exam is held for 2 ½. Total marks allotted to the written exam are 900. NDA Mathematics syllabus comprises topics such as Algebra, Calculus, Matrices and Determinants, Integral Calculus and Differential Equations, Trigonometry, Vector Algebra, Analytical Geometry Of Two and Three Dimension and Statistics and  Probability. 

NDA GAT Syllabus is divided into English and General Knowledge. The syllabus of English Language comprises topics from Grammar and Usage, Vocabulary, Comprehension, and Cohesion. The syllabus of General Knowledge comprises topics from Physics, Chemistry, Social Studies, General Science, Geography, and Current Events.

NDA Salary

The stipend given to Gentlemen Cadets during the entire duration of training in Service academies i.e. during training period at IMA is INR 56,100 for NDA exam. After the successful training, the NDA salary of the Officer Commissioned will be fixed in the first Cell of Level 10.
