The University offers over 50 programmes at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate levels. These programmes are offered under several streams, such as Science, Technology & Engineering, Law, Arts, Commerce, Fine Arts, Computers & IT, Management, etc. Admission to a majority of these courses is entrance-based. However, there are courses that also offer merit-based admission at AU.

In 2003, the university made this important rule for taking admissions. If students need to be admitted to the UG program, they must attempt CUET and score good marks. The minimum qualification for class 12 is a 45% score. At the same, students looking for Ph.D. admission also need to take the PGAT entrance exam.
