It is one of the best NIT in India.

Placements: Around 70-80% of students are placed during campus placements. Many software-based companies offered jobs. Some core companies also come for placements. The minimum salary package is around 6 LPA. Internships are also provided here. The B. Tech placements are good, and daily the number of placed students are increasing.

Infrastructure: This college has a good infrastructure among most of the NITs in India. There are multiple hostels i.e hostel for boys and two for girls. The quality of food is average. Internet facility is provided with high-speed. The classrooms are very good. There are different laboratories for different departments. The library has a very good collection of books. The sports facility is available like cricket, badminton, football, volleyball EC.

Faculty: Faculty members are very good. Most of them have done their Ph.D. from IITs and NITs. The course curriculum is also very good. The laboratories are very rigorous according to the different areas. Teachers use board and presentations also to teach students, and student to faculty members ratio is good.

Other: The campus is situated at the bank of Sangam.
