The online/distance degrees offered by the Centre for Distance and Online Education at Annamalai University are valid. Previously, the University Grants Commission (UGC) did not approve its courses starting from 2015. Annamalai University Distance Education offers admission to candidates based on their merit. Candidates can get a seat directly through Spot Admission. Aspirants have to submit the filled-in application form along with the documents to the nearest Learners Support Centre or LSC in-person to get direct admission. All Spot Admissions are subject to confirmation or cancellation (if found ineligible) by the Director, CD&OE.
