REVA University Welcomes New Academic Batch 2026-2027
REVA University, a leader in education, proudly welcomed the new batch of Engineering, Architecture and Law programmes for 2026-2027. The event, called REVA University UPLINK, held on campus, marked the start of a chapter for thousands of students in these programmes and set the tone for an enriching university experience based on learning, innovation, leadership and enterprise. It also showed the University's dedication to preparing students for the future through its Educate to Enterprise approach.
Dr. P. Shyama Raju, Chancellor, REVA University, presided over the event. He spoke about the University's commitment to creating a complete learning environment that helps students dream big while ensuring they have a safe, supportive place to grow.
The ceremony was also attended by Dr. Adishesha C. S, Director. Technology & Innovation, Collins Aerospace, who was the Guest of Honour.
Speaking to the gathering, Dr P. Shyama Raju said that teachers and professionals have a duty to be examples for the generation. He talked about the importance of taking responsibility and being ethical. He said, "My job is to be a facilitator. In addition to what we teach at the University, we need to teach them more. We need to teach discipline, human values, respect for the country and care for elders."
The 'Educate to Enterprise' Philosophy
When talking about REVA University's Educate to Enterprise approach, he said, "Through our Educate to Enterprise approach, we want to help students become people who create jobs, not just looking for them. We want leaders who inspire, create and make a difference in society."
In his speech, Dr. Adishesha praised REVA University's work to make a place where students can push limits and grow their talents. "The idea of REVA University to give back to society is very inspiring. They have made a connection between industry and school to help do this," he said.
Dr. Adishesha said that interdisciplinary learning is becoming more and more important. He said that the lines between technologies, jobs and areas of study are becoming blurry. "Learning across areas has become the standard now. All types of jobs and subjects should work together with an exchange of knowledge and ideas between them," he added.
REVA Vanamahotsava Green Initiative
As part of the inauguration, every new student got a tree, showing the start of their time at university and their duty to the environment. This was held as part of REVA Vanamahotsava, the University's flagship green initiative, based on the idea of 'One Student, One Tree ', encouraging students to plant and care for a tree during their time at REVA.
Dr. M. Dhanamjaya, Registrar, REVA University, in his welcome address, spoke at length about the REVA ecosystem, pointing out how the University's Educate to Enterprise approach goes beyond just classes to help students grow in many ways, including innovation, leadership and becoming an entrepreneur. He said, "At REVA, learning is not just in the classroom. We want every student to find their potential, gain confidence to take charge and leave with the knowledge and attitude to make a difference."
Dr. K. S. Narayanaswamy, Pro Vice Chancellor, REVA University, thanked the Guest of Honour, the university leaders, teachers, students and parents for being at REVA UPLINK.
The event was also attended by Dr. Beena G., Registrar (Evaluation); Dr. R. C. Biradar, Pro Vice Chancellor; and Dr. Pramod Kulkarni, Pro Vice Chancellor, along with deans, directors, teachers, students and parents.
With its Educate to Enterprise approach, REVA University keeps building a learning environment where students are encouraged not only to learn and do well but also to create, lead and make a real contribution to society. The approach is not about making entrepreneurs; it is about making students think like entrepreneurs, helping them find chances, take on challenges, take action and create value no matter what subject they choose.
