The University has not released the 2024 placement report or brochure. However, the 2023 placement details are out in the NIRF report 2024. Dibrugarh University, Assam is worth considering as a good university. It is placed in top ranks as per the NIRF rankings for consecutive years and also owns various recognitions and accreditations from various governing bodies. NIRF 2024 ranked Dibrugarh University on rank 43 in the Pharmacy category, while it was ranked within the rank band 101-150 for the University (Overall) category. Dibrugarh University owns recognitions and memberships from governing bodies such as AIU and PCI. 

Dibrugarh University admissions are both merit-based and entrance exam based. Candidates who want admission to the courses are done by the university's in-house entrance exams such as DUPGET, DURAT, B.Ed CET for MA, PhD, B.Ed, respectively. For courses such as MBA and MTech, the university accepts valid scores of CAT/ MAT/ CMAT and GATE, respectively. Also, the candidates need to be eligible for Dibrugarh University admissions.

Moreover, accredited with an A Grade by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC), . The university is also approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), NCT, and is a member of the Association of Indian Universities.

Dibrugarh University accepts the exam scores of two entance exams for admitting students to its BTech programmes. These exams are JEE (Main) and Assam CEE (Engineering). A candidate with a valid score in any one of the two mentioned exam is eligible for admission to the BTech programmes of Dibrugarh University. However, candidates applying with Assam CEE scores must have the permanent residence certificate of Assam. Hence, JEE (Main) becomes mandatory for the applicants who do not have a permanent residence certificate of Assam.

Dibrugarh University offers admission to courses based on entrance and requires for candidates to secure valid scores in the accepted entrance exams. The University offers courses such as BSc, BTech, BPharma, BEd, MSc, MBA and many more in full-time and distant mode.

Admission to majority of UG level courses require for candidates to secure a minimum aggregate in Class 12 and previous entrance examination. Whereas, for admission to PG level courses, candidates must secure a minimum aggregate in graduation. Apart from this, the University accepts valid scores of entrance exams such as JEE Main, DUEE, MAT, CAT, XAT, CMAT, GATE, NEET PG and others.
