The degrees/diplomas/certificates offered by BAOU Ahmedabad are treated at par with other UGC-approved universities' degrees/diplomas/certificates. Hence, the degrees issued by BAOU are valid and accepted by companies and other institutes. Additionally, the university is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). It is also recognised by the Distance Education Council (DEC).

BAOU offers seats to candidates based on their merit. The university does not accept CUET scores and aspirants can get admission based on their score in the qualifying exam. Candidates meeting the eligibility criteria can apply for the preferred course and pay the programme fee to confirm their seat in the university.

BAOU admission 2025 is currently open for July session. Candidates wishing to get admission in the university can apply for the preferred course on the university website. BAOU application process generally begins around July and is concluded by October. The admission notice is published on the university official website.

The admission cycle at BAOU for the July and January sessions starts in June and December, respectively. Candidates need to apply online at the official website of BAOU. BAOU admissions are merit-based. Candidates can apply by visiting the official website. Further, the seat allotment is done based on the selection criteria, seat intake, and verification.

The placement cell of the University establishes contact with industrial houses to arrange training and placement opportunities for the students. The BAOU placement cell also organises campus interviews and has signed MoUs with various business organisations and placement agencies. As per the student reviews available on Shikhsa, the BA students bagged the highest package of INR 12 LPA in recent years of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University placements. Further, 85% of the BA and 70% of the BBA batch has been placed in the recent drives.

BAOU provides more than 80 undergraduate, postgraduate, UG diploma, PG diploma, certificates, and doctoral programmes. BAOU has not released the official placement data for 2024. However, according to the BAOU student reviews available on Shiksha, the highest package offered to BA students in the recent Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University placements was INR 12 LPA.
