B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2028
Offered by Ch. Devi Lal State Institute of Engineering and Technology
3.4

Life of a state government engineering college student.
Placements: Now the placement scenario is too low. Before 2022, placement was quite good. Now, on-campus placement is almost 10-20% of each branch. Most of the students grab off-campus placements. Still, good students passed out from this college to big companies like Google (ECE student from the 2022 batch), Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, etc., and also in the government sector. The highest on-campus placement is 10 LPA in branches like CSE, CIVIL, and 6 LPA in core branches like ME, EE, ECE, etc. Almost a maximum of 70-80% got placed on or off-campus.
Infrastructure: We have one academic building and a mechanical workshop, a full Wi-Fi campus with well-structured labs and equipment. Some classrooms have smart boards, and the library system has more than 20,000 books. We have separate boys' and girls' hostels with 600 rooms. Wi-Fi is available on every floor. Mess food is good according to the mess charges (around 90/- per day).
Faculty: We have great teachers who really want to teach us with dedication. We have 7 faculty in the Mechanical department, 10 in CSE, 6 in CIVIL, and 8 in the Electrical department. This course curriculum is according to other universities. It is moderate to pass the exam. If you concentrate in class, you will easily pass the exam by studying for 1-3 weeks.
Other: I chose mechanical engineering because I'm interested in building engines, etc. I want to become a designer. I think the curriculum should be changed. Every year, freshers' and farewell events are organised. Technical and non-technical fests are also organised. There is a separate scholarship branch for students to apply to, and almost everyone got a scholarship.

It's a mixed experience because I am not yet placed here, but I enjoyed it a lot.
Placements: No students get placed in my course. Just 2-3 companies came for placements, but they preferred B.Tech more. 5-6 students got internships in startup companies only. An event called career verse is organised in which my companies participate, like HCL, TCS, Infosys, etc., but they prefer B.Tech students. I got an internship opportunity at Calibyte, which is a startup company.
Infrastructure: Overall, the infrastructure is good in the department. I am a day scholar, so I don't know much about the hostel. My friends stay in the hostel, so they told me that the food is not so good. They even struggle for water to bathe. The hostel timing is 7 PM in the evening for girls.
Faculty: Although there are many good and well-qualified teachers. For my course, they provide us with JRF scholars who don't know anything. Exams are a bit easy. One can pass easily if they do the PyQs only. The pass percentage is approximately 95 percent. I studied one night before the exam and got 82 percent, so anyone can pass easily. The course curriculum is not industry-relevant because in companies, they expect to work and not write definitions.
Other: I did BCA before, so I opted for MCA. It improves my coding skills. The one thing it needs to focus on is practical rather than theoretical. But the campus organises very good events and fests. We enjoy it a lot here.

It is one of the colleges in Haryana that students should think of joining.
Placements: After 1st year, students can openly apply for internships. The on-campus internship is available after the 4th semester. More than 75 percent of students get placed on campus. The highest package offered is 16 LPA for the Quant Finance profile.
Infrastructure: After the 1st year, we will receive a single vacancy room. The hostel food is good. We get a morning breakfast. It contains vegetarian, non-vegetarian, and Jain food. The registration process is very easy, and we can opt in at the time of college registration. The hostel fee is around Rs. 15,000 per year.
Faculty: GJU is famous for its faculty members. We have the famous professors who work with the government of India. Exams are easy if we attend classes, but if we do not, then get ready for a last-minute brain charge. We have open-book exams, but we still cannot beat professors.

Review of GJUST- Guru Jambheshwar University of Science And Technology.
Placements: Assure biotech, Ethnic Biotech, Super Worth Bio, Premas biotech, Dr Lal patlabs, and Angstrom Biotech Private Limited are the companies that were consequently invited one by one in a week, for roles like Biotech services, healthcare and research specialists. The pay for any of these roles would start at 3,00,000 per annum.
Infrastructure: The campus is filled with overwhelming laughter and the noise of the students at all times. The gatherings of alumni, which add much of the flavour to the college by expanding their networking into a greater world. The Rules and norms are included and excluded according to the students' wellness completely.
Faculty: Teachers are hardly present in the remaining due to the students ' absence every single week, and they remain and force us to pay on time. The class includes various sections which involve a lot of technical topics, and the academics are likely complicated to pass. The professors are more oriented towards the everyday topics like the students.

Dissatisfied with placements. But it has good infrastructure, crowded camps, and good connections.
Placements: Around 10-15% of students get placements. The average package for BCA is 2.5 LPA, and the lowest one goes to 1 LPA in companies like Wipro, TCS, etc. Students get internships on their own or though off-campus. There is no support from the university for getting internships.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available in all departments. Computer labs are not that good. Some computers are not working properly. Classrooms have fans only and some broken benches. The library is also available. The college is good for sports and games. Many games are available for participation.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified and knowledgeable. But the teaching quality is not that good. There is no scope for making students industry-ready. Semester exams are moderate. The pass percentage in my specific course is around 30-40%. Overall, you have to study yourself to get placements.
Other: There are no fests at all. If you are expecting fests with singers, etc., no, they are not held once here. For a scholarship, you have to cry for an attendance certificate. The campus crowd is good.

B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering - Batch of 2029
2.8
2Placements3Infrastructure3Faculty3Crowd & Campus Life3Value for Money
Facilities are average, like infrastructure, campus life, crowd, teachers, and hostel.
Placements: The highest package from CSE is 6 LPA, and the average package is around 3 LPA. 5-10 students are generally placed till now (mid placement season). Most of the students try to find internships off campus by building their skills on their own, and mostly get their placements off campus.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, library are good. There are all the facilities for a studious student who genuinely wants to study. But the hostel provided for B.Tech students is very bad. No space in the room, no separate almirah, table, chair, or even bed. The food is also very bad at this hostel.
Faculty: Some teachers are good and knowledgeable about their subject, but mostly do not teach properly. Students have to understand the topics on their own using the internet. The curriculum is also outdated, it won't help students in their placements. They have to study separately for it.
Other: There are not so many events conducted at the college level. The campus crowd is not that good. You will find few people serious about their studies.

It has been seen that in the 'Management' category, the institute's ranks have shown a fluctuating trend when evaluated against the ranking of the prior year. In 2025, GJUST's rank is #101, the same as last year's rank in the 'Management' category by the NIRF ranking.
