Yes, for admission to MA (except Wellness and Counselling) at Goa University, students need to qualify Goa University Admissions Ranking Test (GU-ART) entrance exam. It is a common in-house entrance exam conducted by the university itself for all PG courses. The marks/ percentage obtained by the candidate while graduating would only be used to ascertain the eligibility of candidates for the programme. The purpose of the GU-ART is only to rank the prospective candidates and not for determination of pass/ fail.

Goa University offers two-year MA programme divided into four semesters. Reservation of seats for admission to the various programmes of study shall be based on the Reservation Policy of the Goa State Government. Candidates applying for admission under the Reserved Categories shall be required to submit a valid Certificate to that effect issued by the Officer of the rank of the Deputy Collector or any other authorized Officer as notified by the Government of Goa. Goa University conducts its entrance exam for some of the courses. These are GU-ART and GU-PET for PG and PhD programmes, respectively. The university also conducts GU-CLAT, GU-QET, GU-CSAT, etc. Besides this, Goa University also accepts national-level entrance exam scores. The university accepts CMAT/ XAT for MBA General and ATMA for MBA Financial Services. For admission to PhD programme, the university also accepts UGC NET/ SET/ JRF/ GATE/ GPAT scores.

Candidates seeking admission to the BSc at Goa University are required to meet the minimum eligibility criteria. Candidates who have passed the Class 12 examination with the respective subjects from a recognised board can get admission to the BSc programme offered at Goa University.

Goa University BSc seat reservation is based on the reservation policy of the Goa State Government. Given below is the Goa University BSc seat reservation policy:

• 1% of total seats shall be reserved for Children of Ex-servicemen
• 2% of seats, subject to a minimum of one seat, shall be reserved for the SC category candidates of Goa State
• 5% of total seats, subject to a minimum of one seat, shall be reserved for PwD candidates
• 10% of seats, subject to a maximum of two seats and a minimum of one seat, shall be reserved for candidates of the other Indian Universities
• 10% of total seats shall be reserved for the EWS candidates of the Unreserved category
• 12% of seats, subject to a minimum of one seat, shall be reserved for the ST category candidates of Goa State
• 27% of total seats, subject to a minimum of two seats, shall be reserved for the OBC-NCL category candidates of Goa State
• 15% of seats, over and above the allotted number of seats, shall be reserved as supernumerary seats for overseas candidates
• Out of the 15% supernumerary seats, one seat will be reserved for Kashmiri Migrants as per directives of the UGC
