College introduces new subjects for the new students.

Placements: More than 50% students are getting placed with an annual salary of 2 LPA to 3 LPA at Muthoot Finance. Over 50% of students are getting placed and doing their jobs in Chandigarh, Delhi, and locally. The highest package of their batch, our batch is one of the finest batches, and some are selected in the army.

Infrastructure: College is very best for study. Teachers and staff are very educated and good at communication. Food in the mess was amazing, and there is a sports complex where students play their favorite games. The college makes less effort for the sports persons of the college.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and well-educated, they teach best about their topics, and their teaching style is amazing. Teachers and examiners come from outside the college, so there is no chance of cheating. Exams are conducted in a fully systematic way, ensuring no chance of cheating.

Other: I want to join the banking line, that’s why I chose this field.

Strong academics and faculty, but poor placements and hostel facilities.

Placements: Guru Nanak Dev University is a prestigious institute but when it comes to placements, they don’t provide ample on-campus opportunities for commerce students. There is a limited or no placement cell for M.Com students which leaves the students to find off-campus opportunities. However, they have a strong academic background!

Infrastructure: Since GNDU is a government university, the hostels follow a budget model. But that often comes at the cost of comfort and convenience. Rooms are generally small and maintenance varies widely depending on the warden and block. During summer months, the lack of air conditioning becomes a real issue, mostly in the scorching heat of Punjab. Internet connectivity is weak or non-existent in many hostels, pushing students to rely on their personal mobile data for online classes or assignments. The mess food, however, is affordable and healthy but does lack variety. The infrastructure is outdated but survival.

Faculty: University offers a well-structured curriculum that aligns with many competitive exams like CS and CA. The faculty is very helpful, knowledgeable, and supportive! They provide enough opportunities to enhance the knowledge of students. The professors hold Ph.D. degrees and have years of experience. They give us both conceptual and practical knowledge!

Other: Well, the only reason I chose this course was because they have a good faculty and they value knowledge over comfort. They may not have the best hostels, but overall the campus is beautiful. It’s a peaceful campus that connects us with nature.

Good college for degree in budget.

Placements: The placements are basic. 20-30% of students get campus placement. The highest package was about 4 LPA, and the average of the placed students was 2 LPA. Roles offered were of sales executive and accountants. The top companies were insurance companies, banks, and some local businesses.

Infrastructure: Normal offline classrooms are there. No such electronic things are used. Only board book study in the class. I never went to their hostel. The canteen only has fast food, and that is okay. I don't know about the mess. The games are there, but I never participated.

Faculty: Semester exams are normally difficult. Mostly everyone passes in the first or second attempt. The course curriculum is old and not so relevant. Computer-based learning needs to be introduced as all the work is going to be future-related. Teachers are good, although.

Good enough according to the feel.

Placements: Placement rate is approximately 50-60%, with the highest package offered at around 11 LPA the lowest package at about 5 LPA, mainly recruited by companies like Koachar Teach, Maxicus, Flipkart, Amazon, etc. Roles are not actually high positions, and students need to find internships themselves.

Infrastructure: Labs and libraries are available and serve basic academic needs. Hostel and mess facilities are provided, but the food quality is average, neither too bad nor impressive. Improvements in hygiene and taste could make the hostel experience better.

Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified and supportive, but the course isn’t truly industry-ready, lacking practical exposure and real-world tools. Exam difficulty is moderate, and manageable with regular study. With around a 97% pass rate, the evaluation system seems lenient and not very competitive.

Other: If the course focused more on practical skills and real corporate needs, it would add great value. Still, campus life is vibrant with events like Youth Fest, Jahan, departmental fests, and inter-department sports that boost creativity, teamwork, and overall experience.

However, now I can see the improvements due to the arrival of our new principal.

Placements: My batch is 2022-25, and I am pursuing B.Com. Very few students are placed because they lack communication skills and can't clear the group discussion rounds and interviews. Most are also not interested in placements due to their plans for further studies.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure in our college is actually good. All facilities like drinking water, electricity supply, comfortable benches, clean washrooms, and a good environment. Sports facilities are also available, and cleanliness is maintained across the whole campus at all times.

Faculty: All faculty members do not teach students to their potential. Their motive is to complete the syllabus, and the curriculum is very theoretical and not practical. That's why they don't focus on the practical aspects of the respective topics in the course. The result can be seen during placements.

Other: I am pursuing CA, which is why I am doing B.Com. However, now the course has improved the CGPA system and introduced by GNDU, but the syllabus is still outdated, and nothing new has been introduced in the curriculum.

Placements: Placement is good, the highest package till now is 44 LPA, and the average is 6 to 7 LPA. After 4 semesters, there is an internship programme in every course. There are many recruiting companies like TCS and Amazon. Overall, it has a good placement cell. It's recommended.

Infrastructure: Hostel has a study room and Wi-Fi for students. There are 2 canteens, and for washrooms, there are 2 canteens and a hostel mess for students. Many other activities like table tennis are available. The hostel has basic equipment in the park for exercise and many other facilities for students.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, and from my course, some subjects are irrelevant like Taxation or FM. But now, a new integrated programme is introduced as Data Analytics, which is a good course for students who want to make a career in the finance field. The exam level in this campus is average.
