Yes, Himachal Pradesh University accepts NEET score for admission to BAMS. NEET exam is conducted once a year in offline or paper-pencil-based test (PBT) mode for three hours and 20 minutes or 200 minutes. As far as the NEET exam pattern is concerned, there are 200 questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology, out of which 180 questions have to be attempted. Candidates after qualifying NEET have to apply for HPU BAMS programme. The university releases a merit list based on NEET score of the candidates.
There are a total of 275 seats in BAMS programme offered by HPU-affiliated colleges. Out of the total intake, 85% seats are reserved for State Quota while 15% are for All India Quota. Below is HPU intake for BAMS:

Himachal Pradesh University Shimla conducts an entrance exam for B.Ed admission. The minimum qualifying marks in the entrance test is 35% (53 out of 150). That means, aspirants must get at least 53 questions correct for getting admission to B.Ed programme.
There is relaxation in the cutoff requirement for SC/ ST/ Physically Handicapped candidates. There is 5% relaxation for SC/ ST/ OBC/ Physically Handicapped candidates. Candidates need to get 30 questions correct out of 150.

- SC/ ST/ OBC/ Physically Handicapped aspirants can also apply with 50% or 5.01 CGPA or Grade B in bachelor's in Engineering or Technology.
Candidates appearing for HPU B.Ed entrance exam have to secure at least 35% for passing the exam. Aspirants have to get at least 53 questions correct out of total 150. There is relaxation of 5% in the passing marks for SC/ ST/ Physically Handicapped candidates. Such aspirants have to get 30% or 45 questions correct out of 150. Aspirants must also fulfil the eligibility requirements along with the entrance exam criteria to get admission to B.Ed programme.

Yes, Himachal Pradesh University reserves some seats for students belonging to Himachal Pradesh. The total management seats will be 10% of the seats for Himachali Bonafide candidates. The admissions of the candidates of Bonafide of Himachal Pradesh under 85% seats to B.Ed. course in all the Institutions/Colleges will be made strictly in order of merit of the entrance test. No, candidates do not require passing an entrance exam for admission to BTech (lateral entry) at Himachal Pradesh University. Admission to BTech (LE) courses is based on merit of the aspirants in the last qualifying exam. Candidates need to complete a three-year Diploma preferably in the same branch (IT/CSE/CE/EE/ECE) with at least 45% aggregate (40% aggregate for reserved category) ), preferably from Himachal Pradesh State Board of Technical Education or equivalent to get admission in BTech (LE) programme.

HPU MAT is the entrance exam required for admission to HPU Business School, Himachal Pradesh University MBA programme. HPU MAT is a computer-based test of two hours' duration with 200 questions. It is conducted once in a year. The syllabus of the entrance exam is similar to most management entrance test syllabuses, which include topics such as verbal ability, reading comprehension, quantitative ability, data adequacy, and data interpretation.
Candidates who have completed a bachelor's degree of a University established by law in India (with the subject of study for MSc as one of the subjects) in 2nd Division or with at least 45% aggregate (40% aggregate in case of SC/ST candidates) or Honours in the subject concerned are eligible to apply for the MSc programme at Himachal Pradesh University. Aspirants should hold the documents proving their eligibility for verification at the time of admission.

Candidates planning to apply for HPU MBA programme must complete their graduation. Below is the detailed eligibility for Himachal Pradesh University MBA course:
- Candidates who have passed bachelor's degree with at least 50% aggregate (45% aggregate for SC/ ST candidates) can apply for MBA .
- Candidates appearing for their final year exam of bachelor's degree can also appear in HPU MAT, but the final selection is subject to satisfying the eligibility condition.
- Except for Non-subsidised, serving or retired defence personnel, the maximum age limit is 26 years for boys and 28 years for girls (29 years in case of SC/ST candidates both for ST boys and girls) as on July 1 of the year concerned.
Yes, candidates need to complete a minimum of Class 12 to apply for HPU BA programme. Below is detailed eligibility:
- Candidates need to pass Class 12 or an equivalent exam in four written subjects (including English) with at least 33% aggregate or,
- Candidates seeking admission to BA with Mathematics as one of the subjects of study, should have either 45% marks in aggregate or 45% aggregate in Mathematics at Class 12.
- Aspirants who have completed pre-university examination (two years) or an examination recognised equivalent thereto (pass in four subjects, one language and three elective subjects) with 33% aggregate can apply.
- Candidates who have passed any examination of a University/ Board/ College or School in a foreign country recognised as equivalent with at least 33% aggregate or BA/ BSc/ BCom Part-I of the old three-year degree course can also apply.
- Aspirants who have completed Class 12 examination (academic stream) conducted by the HP Board of School Education (or in case of Shastri, pass in Prak Shastri from Sanskrit Colleges affiliated to the HPU) or an examination accepted as equivalent thereto by the various bodies of the HP University can also apply.
Himachal Pradesh University reserves some seats for SC/ ST candidates of Himachal domicile. Below is the seat reservation criteria:

The remaining 77.5% of seats shall be filled as under:
25% of the seats for admission shall be open for all the aspirants irrespective of the institution from where they have passed their qualifying exam;
75% of the seats are reserved for candidates who have passed their qualifying examination from HPU or HP Krishi Vishvavidyalaya or Dr YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, subject to the following reservations:
- 5% of the seats shall be reserved for outstanding sportsmen/ women (who have represented the University or State in Inter-University or Inter-State tournaments).
- 5% of the seats shall be reserved for candidates who have shown outstanding performance in cultural activities
NTA announced the NEET 2024 exam date on September 19, 2023. NEET 2024 exam was conducted on May 5. The result of NEET 2024 was declared on June 4, 2024. After the result declaration, several irregularities and anomalies were found in the result and the scoring system. Hence, NTA is reconducting NEET 2024 on June 23, 2024, for 1,563 candidates who were awarded grace marks. The result will be declared on June 30, 2024. The NEET 2024 counselling process for the 15 per cent All India Quota (AIQ) seats is likely to be conducted from July 6, 2024 onwards.
The NEET 2024 application process was conducted from February 9, 2024, to March 16, 2024. The last date of application was extended from March 9, by a week. The application and correction windows were reopened in April. While the NEET exam dates were scheduled in September and July a couple of years ago owing to the pandemic situation, it took a toll on the medical admission schedule. To bridge this gap, NTA conducted NEET in May last year. The trend is being continued for NEET 2024 as well.
