As per the official brochure released, a student is allowed to pursue two academic programmes simultaneously through ODL / Online mode, as per the illustration given below. The XAT registration process 2026 is now open for MBA/PGDM courses. The last date to register is Dec 5, 2025. Furthermore, the XAT 2026 exam will be held on Jan 4, 2026.
IGNOU has started PhD admission 2025. Candidates can apply till Oct 31, 2025. Further, the entrance test will be held on Jan 5, 2026.
The fresh registration process for the July 2025 session is currently open for admission to all the courses (ODL/online mode) (except Certificate and Semester-based courses), and the last date has been extended to Oct 15, 2025.

IGNOU admissions are usually conducted in two sessions in a year-January and July. As per the multiple sources on web, more than 7 lakh students enrol in the IGNOU courses every year. The university offers admission to candidates of any age meeting the eligibility requirements. For some courses such as B.Ed, BSc Nursing and PhD, the university conducts an entrance exam.

IGNOU admission process includes registration, document submission, appearing for entrance test (if requireD) and fee payment. Currently, IGNOU offers more than 200 programmes at UG, PG, diploma, certificate and doctoral levels in distance education and online mode. IGNOU Eligibility & Selection 2025

IGNOU UG admissions are held in two sessions-January and June. The Open University offers BA, BCom, BBA, BSc, B.L.I.Sc, among various other courses across multiple specialisations at the UG level. Most of these UG courses are offered via distance learning mode for three years' duration. However, BPP and BLIS courses are offered for one year. IGNOU Admission Process 2025

IGNOU admission 2025 is open. Candidates who are willing to fill the IGNOU 2025 application form have to create a DEB ID. The DEB ID is mandatory for all students. Step 1: IGNOU Application Process 2025

IGNOU application process is completely online. Aspirants fulfilling the eligibility requirements can fill out the form as and when the applications open.

Step 2: IGNOU Selection Rounds 2025

Students who have applied for B.Ed, MBA or PB BSc Nursing must appear for the required entrance and check if they've qualified. The university announces IGNOU results on the official website of the university. Followed by application, application fee payment and entrance, students who have completed their registration can check their status by entering their registration number on the IGNOU admission status page. The university also notifies students about their admission confirmation or rejection through an email and a text message in the next two months.

The university reviews the admission forms submitted by the candidates. These forms are processed region-wise on a first-come-first-serve basis. Therefore, the time required for the processing of forms for different regional centres may vary depending on the number of applicants from the respective region. However, the university claims that within two months, every student receives admission confirmation via email or on the student portal.

Step 3: IGNOU Admission Confirmation 2025

Once the university communicates that the student is shortlisted, students need to pay the course admission fee as per the IGNOU fee structure to confirm their seat at the university.

IGNOU offers fee exemptions and reimbursement facilities to students belonging to reserved categories, such as SC and ST. These students are eligible for Government of India Scholarships. Such students are advised to collect scholarship forms from the Directorate of Social Welfare or from the office of the Social Welfare Officer of their State. This form must be filled out and submitted to the Regional Director at the Regional Centre for necessary certification by the Regional Director.

IGNOU Fees 2025

IGNOU fee structure is cumulative of multiple components such as the tuition fee and one-time fee, etc. The registration fee is non-refundable. IGNOU accepts fee payment in online mode via credit card/debit card/net banking. After completion of the first year, students have to pay the IGNOU re-registration fee to register for the admission year till the course completion. IGNOU Fee Refund Policy 2025

IGNOU University has a pre-defined limited provision for admission cancellation and fee refund. The registration fee is not refunded in any case. In a case where admission is denied by the university, the programme fee is refunded after the processing fee deduction. The amount is transferred to the source account. Some of the fee refund rules along with the modified IGNOU fee refund policy 2025 are mentioned in the table given below:

UG Trends

The highest enrollment in UG courses is for three-year programmes, followed by one-year courses. Out of the total number of students, 47% are female in two-year course and 41% in three-year UG courses. The data indicates that most of the female students preferred two-year UG programmes.

PG Trends

Looking at the NIRF data for PG courses, the two-year programme saw the highest enrollment. Out of the total enrolled, 57% were female, indicating lesser no. of males in these programmes. The enrollment is quite low in PG one-year course in comparison to two-year programme.

IGNOU Application Process 2025

The mode of application is online for IGNOU admission. Candidates meeting the eligibility criteria can apply for their preferred course. The registrations for the July session are open. Candidates have to pay the application fee INR 1,000 for PhD courses. Candidates can check the application steps below:

1: Visit the official website of IGNOU and apply

Those willing to apply to courses that require a university-level entrance are required to fill out the exam form of IGNOU.

2: Fill in the user name and password and click on the 'Submit' button. The user name is then instantly sent to the candidate via email or SMS.

3: Then click on 'Login' button and fill out the online application form.

4: Pay the application fee and submit the form. The application fee for IGNOU courses is INR 300.

Students filling out the IGNOU application form also need to create a DEB-ID. Below are the steps to create a DEB-ID:

1: Create an ABC ID. (https://deb.ugc.ac.in/StudentDEBId)

2: Students then have to submit details in the box 'R'

3: Follow the instructions to create a DEB ID using the email ID and mobile number.

4: Reach out to the nearest IGNOU Study Centre or Regional Centre in case of any difficulty for assistance.

IGNOU admission status can be checked for fresh applicants and those who have already applied for re-registration.

How can I Check IGNOU Admission Status?

All IGNOU applicants need to check their IGNOU admission status to take remedial action in case there is a problem with their application form. As mentioned before, there are two methods of checking the admission status of Indira Gandhi National Open University. These are as follows:

First, is by visiting the official website at ignou.ac.in. On the official website, students can log in using their name and enrolment number (also referred to as the 10 digit unique control number) and see the status.
The second way is to wait to post the application submission. However, this wait can extend up to two months. This is because the general waiting period confirmed by IGNOU for admission confirmation is two months. Once the status is confirmed, the university sends an SMS to the shortlisted candidate.

My review about this college

Learning Experience: Course, study procedure, and exam procedure are smooth. In any course at the University, one can get so much knowledge and information. I am so grateful to the University for all these. After my admission, I received study materials and books from the study center. IGNOU sends all study material by post and also a project guide, which is very convenient for the student. It's an open university, so there's no campus placement, but it's the best open university. The evaluation of marks is a bit tough, but it's considered equal to regular universities. Exams are conducted in exam centers.

Placements: College helps you get interviewed by different hotels for the 6-month industrial training program. The stipend offered is approximately 3000. The placement scenario is not that good. According to me, getting a placement depends on a student's academic career: how he has performed in exams, how attentive he was in class, how active he was in group discussions, and so on. Placement depends on all these criteria. Only a deserving child gets a placement. There are ample opportunities for graduates and post-graduates to select the best career for themselves. The placement depends on oneself.

Faculty: All the faculty members were very supportive and friendly. There were both male as well as female faculty members, but everyone was like a real friend, a real teacher, and a real path-showing person. They all treated us, students, as their own children and never made harsh words with any of the students during my study period. The structure of the course was very good and well-organized, but it was on the tough side. Very little focus was given to practicals, but I had to submit 8 assignments in total in the 2-year M.A. course.

Placements: Internships are completely overtaken by students' choices. The college also arranges some internships. But there is no compulsion. The stipend offered ranges from Rs. 1,000-5,000 per month. A few companies visited the college under the placement cell and recruited a few students. Students should pass in all semesters. After the fourth semester, students are eligible for campus placements. A large number of companies come for placements, like TCS, Reliance, ICICI Bank, etc. The starting package on the campus is Rs. 18,000 per month. Almost 60-80% of students get placed.

Faculty: Faculty members are very educated and knowledgeable. They make the education process very easy. We have one of these faculty members who are very educated and their lectures are absolutely mind-blowing because whatever they taught us in college helped us in our exams. The course curriculum should be easy to understand and it should be student-oriented, full of activities, and not teacher-oriented. The course curriculum should include all topics that will nourish student knowledge and enable us to stand on our own and become job-ready. Our course is up to date. We are provided with industrial exposure to Rajasthan. It is a great trip as we are able to acquire good knowledge over there and overall it is good. There are different teachers for different subject students. So the ratio is 6:120. All faculty members are well-educated. Some are M.com qualified and some are MBA holders. Some are professional degree holders.

Other: I have been interested in accounts for a long, so I chose this course.

The classes are clean with big windows providing good ventilation.

Learning Experience: Everyone will get placement based on the knowledge and how they used to prepare what they have to taught so placement is completely on their self preparations they provide the support but we have to prepare and we have to select for that interview that is important and placement provided by that college

Placements: From 7th semester students become eligible for campus placements. Infosys, zscalar ,TCS and many more companies visits. Highest package is - 15- 20 lakhs . 70% of students get placements from our college.

Faculty: The faculties approach each and every student in the class and clarify their doubts with more patience. And sometimes, they explain twice or thrice on the students requests. They also explain topics using projector. And conducts tests in every week.

Course Support: Course I am pursuing is hard . Not that much hard but it is hard to understand some many different programming languages. If you can take that much pressure so go for it . There is a improvement that 1 programming languages should take for 1 yr for better understanding and learning.

Placements: Placement of college is very good and one of the best in chhattisgarh, highest 28 LPA and average is 6.5 Lacs Per Year. 80% Students get placed, major recruiters are Microsoft, Adobe,Hacker Rank, Tech Mahendra.

Faculty: Faculty to students ratio is 1:10. Course structure is well defined for all the department. Facilities are very helping. There are two test conducted in complete single semester. By which taking average of both tests and send it to the university.marking scheme is transparent, accurate and deserving.

Course Support: Course curriculum is well structured and provides a basic foundation in subjects.covering the wide range of topics which give ideas and knowledge about all topics.curriculum has also opportunities for intership, projects etc.
