ICT Mumbai Campus Highlights
The ICT Mumbai campus is spread over 16 acres of land and has all the modern facilities required by the students. It has a huge auditorium to accommodate a large group of students for college-level events. The research centres have well-equipped labs with all the modern equipment supporting students' academic needs. The institute has the infrastructure for both indoor and outdoor sports to encourage students to participate in physical activities. Besides, it also has Animal House facilities. The animal house has an area of about 1500 ft², which is fitted with a highly ventilated air conditioning system (HVAC) to provide proper air and lights. The house has small animals, such as mice, rats, guinea pigs, rabbits, etc. ICT Mumbai has multiple mess facilities to provide hygienic and healthy meal options to the students. ICT Mumbai Hostel Facilities
The Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), Mumbai campus, has four hostel blocks, which are allocated equally between boys and girls students. The total accommodating capacity, including all 4 hostel blocks, is close to 900, including students from all courses and years. All the hostel rooms are properly ventilated and have the basic furniture, such as a study table and chair, a bed, a cupboard, etc. All the hostels are under the surveillance of 24/7 CCTV cameras for the safety and security of the students. ICT Mumbai hostels have 3 Messes, which are run internally by the Mess committees headed by the Warden. Allocation of the hostels is completely merit-based, and preference will be given to students who come from outside Mumbai.
For the hostels, guest rooms are also available for the parents who wish to come and visit their wards. For medical emergencies, on-call doctors are also available for the students. Senior doctors are also available in the health centre of the hostel. ICT Mumbai Library
The institute has a central library called Prof. M M Sharma Library, which was established in 1934. It functions as a dual library, catering to both the academic and research needs of students. The library is accessible to students and faculty alike. The ICT Mumbai library is housed in a separate ground-floor area, along with a two-storey building. It boasts a vast collection in Chemical Engineering, Chemical Sciences, Chemical Technology, Pharmacy, and related fields. Inside the library, there is a dedicated reading space accommodating 200 students at once. The library remains open throughout the year, except on four days: Independence Day, Republic Day, Ganesh Chaturthi, and Dussehra. The Library is operational from 8:30 am to 8:30 pm on working days and from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on second and fourth Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. Institute of Chemical Technology's library has a collection of 77102 books, bound volumes and reports, 4848 theses, 125 journals (printed) and 5 databases. It performs a dual role of an academic library as well as a research library. It is housed in a separate ground plus two-storied building and follows a completely open-access concept. The library is fully computerized using the library management software called Libsys. It can be termed as a hybrid library with the best collection of printed and digital documents. The library is also a member of E-ShodhSindhu Consortium. The library has a facility of circulation service, reference and referral service, current awareness service, bibliographic service, photocopying service, user orientation programs, e-resources training programs and book bank service.
