A college that actually prioritizes studies.
Placements: IIIT Hyderabad consistently records excellent placements, as 95-99 percent of students get placed each year. In the B.Tech CSE course, the highest package recently touched is 128 LPA. The average package ranges from 32-34 LPA. The lowest package is 6 LPA. Major recruiters include Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Apple, Adobe, Meta, Uber, Goldman Sachs, and top product companies. Most roles offered are software engineer, research engineer, ML/AI, system developer, and security. Internship statistics are not formally published, but many students secure internships in companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, or through research labs. Overall, placements are among the best in India.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good and is not short on anything. Keeping in mind the shortage of space in the college, there might be a few luxuries missing. The campus has very small-sized hostels, so they might be congested. We have rooms called workplaces where most students spend their time.
Faculty: Teachers and teaching assistants are very helpful and approachable. There are tests on a regular basis. Tests are kind of a difficult level, and not just that, the previous year or the most probable questions are repeated. Lab subjects also have a rigorous curriculum.

My experience at IIIT Hyderabad.
Placements: The placements at IIIT Hyderabad are excellent, with the highest package of 46 LPA in my course and in B. Teach computer science and engineering is 74 LPA. The average package in my course is 30 LPA. And the percentage of students who got placed in my course is 100 percent. The top recruiting companies are Adobe, Alpha Grep, Amazon, Apple, Deloitte, Bloomberg, Jio, Microsoft, Samsung, Google, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is just awesome with all the requirements. In the central library, all study materials are available for all semesters, and all books are available. Classrooms and labs are equipped with smart boards, and unlimited Wi-Fi facilities are available throughout the campus. There are many grounds for sports like cricket, football, volleyball, and basketball. The quality of the food in the mess is good and hygienic.
Faculty: The faculty were very experienced and very friendly with all students; they taught us in a unique way so we could easily catch it. They are highly qualified to teach us. My course is curriculum relevant and they make us ready to the current industry. For each semester, there are mid-semester, end-semester, quizzes, and lots of assignments will be given. We have to study hard to pass the semester Each semester will include a midterm and an endterm, as well as quizzes and numerous assignments. The pass percentage is 50 percent.
Other: The campus life is great because it has all the required facilities. I have left the top NITs and chosen this college because it has the best placements. There is nothing changing. There are many extracurricular activities like sports, events, festivals, and clubs. Connectivity is also good because transportation is easily available. Scholarships are also available, so we can pay our fee easily.

Very happy to have studied in IIITH. A very healthy atmosphere for students to learn and grow.
Placements: 100% of the students got placed. The highest package was - 30 Lacs per annum, the lowest package - 7 Lacs per annum. About 30% of students got an internship in Amazon, Google or Microsoft. Microsoft, Amazon, Facebook, Indeed, Google, Morgan Stanley, Citi group, Fidelity, a lot of high paying and promising startups like pocket gems, xurmo etc also came.
Infrastructure: A very healthy atmosphere for students to learn and grow. Healthy food options were available ensuring students don't need to step out. The library was well-equipped, enough sports facilities also available. Wi-Fi in classrooms and common areas needs improvement.
Faculty: Some of the courses are not very relevant, but most of what is required for an industry in terms of coding practices, Algorithms etc. are covered. Best coding practices, best design practices for designing software in future are some of the things not covered in the courses.
Other: More student exchange programs, encouragement for relevant internships in all courses are required. More professor or tutor driven preparation for interviews or higher studies in academics is required. Preparation for interviews for all positions in academia and industry were student-driven.

Really very good placements and infrastructure as well.
Placements: Till now every year 100% students are placed. Big tech giants like Google, Microsoft, Apple, Qualcomm, Nvidia also come in the placement drive. In case of computer Science the lowest package this year was 6lpa and the highest was 32lpa (excluding overseas offers) and avg. Package offered was 18lpa. A special students placement cell is there in the institute to help you throughout the process.
Infrastructure: Hostel rooms are very decent, mess food is better than most of the colleges in India. Most of the campus is Wi-Fi enabled. Aarogya medical centre is there in the institute itself. Badminton court, lawn tennis court, volleyball court, basketball court, table tennis tables, cricket nets, Gym, football ground is also there. Overall infrastructure is good.
Faculty: Course curriculum here is better than any other college in India as from the first year itself you get exposure to programming instead of wasting time in physics, chemistry like other institutes. All the professors are Ph.D. holders from renowned universities and are very knowledgeable. You get industrial exposure as in some of the courses you are supposed to complete a project with a client who is usually not from the institute.
Other: Course curriculum is a bit hectic so you don't have much time for co curricular activities. But still those who are very passionate manage their time decently.

Great faculty but lack of infrastructure and faculty.
Placements: The placements were pretty impressive for students in computer Science, about 98-100 percent students were placed and the average package was above 9-11lpa. The highest salary was about 45lpa and the lowest was 6lpa. All the students were placed in technical engineering positions (software/hardware). Around 30 percent of students had got internships. The average stipend would be around 20-30k per month. Yes there is a placement cell, it is pretty effective.
Infrastructure: There is a dire lack of infra and facilities in IIIT, the labs and classrooms are sub-par. Whereas other facilities for sports etc. Are almost non-existent. The mess food is decent though, students have option to choose from 4 messes (serving beg/non-veg/jain food). .
Faculty: Yes the teachers were pretty knowledgeable and the quality of education was also good. There was a lack of faculty for trans-disciplinary branches (like natural sciences, linguistics). IIIT is a research institute they arent keen on getting industry exposure for students.

For admission to BTech-MS at IIIT Hyderabad, ranking is done separately for each board. The primary ranking criteria is the subject aggregate score as defined against each eligible category. Candidates with 90% aggregate or more in Maths in any central or state board must belong to one of the following categories:
  • Must have scored 90% or more aggregate in Maths, Physics and Chemistry - applicable only for CND programme.
  • Must have scored 85% or more as aggregate in Maths and any one subject among History, Political Science, Geography, Economics, English Elective, Sociology - applicable only for CHD programme
