IUST Awantipora accepts JEE Main (Paper 1) scores for admission to its BTech courses (except in BTech in Food Technology. These entrance exams are conducted by the NTA. The exact exam dates vary yearly. JEE Main (Paper 1) is usually conducted in January every year.

For admission to BTech in Food Technology, the university accepts CUET UG (relevant subject) scores. CUET UG is usually conducted around May - June every year.

The selection process for B.Tech at the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) is based on the performance in the JEE Main Paper 1 and the normalized score of the qualifying examination.
