JNU Delhi Courses & Fees 2026: UG, PG, Doctorate, Certificate Courses

Both JNU and DU offer a two-year full-time MCA course at the postgraduate level. However, the University of Delhi is more popular for its undergraduate courses and Jawaharlal Nehru University is popular for its postgraduate courses. However, Delhi University's median package offered to the MCA students was a bit higher than JNU. Further, during JNU PG placements 2023, the median package offered was INR 9.5 LPA, whereas, the median package stood at INR 16 LPA for DU MCA students.

MA graduates can make a career in industries such as banking, hospitality, railways, or public sector companies depending upon the chosen specialisation. The average salary given to MA pass-outs ranges from INR 3 to INR 6 LPA. How admissions work

• Entrance-exam centric: Most schools and departments admit via a written entrance test (subject paper) followed in many cases by an interview or presentation. Some programs (e.g., MPhil/PhD) rely on prior academic record, research proposal, and interviews.
• Centralized process: Applications through JNU's online portal; selection lists published department-wise and category-wise (General/OBC/SC/ST/EWS/PwD).
• Seat matrix: Many departments have small intake (often 10–30 seats), increasing selectivity.

Jawaharlal Nehru University is one of the leading university which offers quality education to the students. It has strong academic values with campus culture, research opportunities and other outcomes offered to the students. 

JNU Delhi is ranked 2 in the University category by the NIRF 2025. It has wide course curricculum under the guidance of expert faculty members with years of experince. The JNU offers only one MBA programme. There are 9 major and minor domain specialisations available under the course. Students can pursue an MBA with any domain. Students are required to meet the eligibility criteria of the course.

For admission to the MBA course, the candidate should have appeared for the CAT entrance examination. Candidates can apply for the course only with a valid score on this exam. JNU Delhi does not accept the Central University Entrance Test (CUET-UG) for admission to the BTech courses. To be eligible for JNU BTech admission, candidates must have a valid JEE Main score. The final selection is based on JoSAA counselling process. The JoSAA counselling is usually held in the month of September. This year, there will be six rounds of seat allotment.  

Yes, the university offer two-year MA programme in multiple specialisations. Some of the specialisations in which the course is available are Sociology, Political Science, Economics, etc. The course carries a total of 64 credits. In addition, the course is divided into four semester and there are 16 credits each semester. Admission to this PG-level course is entrance-based. 

Yes, candidates can get admission in BSc at JNU with 60% marks in Class 12. Candidates wishing to get admission in BSc in Ayurveda Biology should have passed Class 12 with at least 45% marks. Admission is offered based on score in CUET UG.

Both colleges are well-known for providing the best education to the students. For students aiming for admission to DU, the minimum score needed for MA in English programme by the General AI category was 199.  

On the other hand, the minimum score needed for the same programme and category in JNU was 88. Comparing both scores, we can see that the competition for the DU colleges is on the higher side.

JNU MCA placement data 2023 is not released. However, according to JNU NIRF report 2024, the key highlights of JNU PG 2-year (including MCA course) placements over the past three years are presented below:

CAT application process for the current year has already been concluded. The exam has also been conducted. The results and answer key are expected to be released at the iimcat.ac.in website. The CAT 2026 registration dates are not announced yet.

There are over 965 seats for MA courses. The seat reservation policy is carried out as per a set of rules. Reservation of seats in various programmes of study for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Classes (Non Creamy Layer (NCL) and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) category is 15%, 7.5%, 27% and 10%, respectively. As per the provisions of Rights of Persons with Disabilities (PWD) Act, 2016, not less than 5% seats are reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities.

Jawaharlal Nehru University offers a four-year full-time BTech course at the undergraduate level. Yes, JNU offers BTech in Computer Science & Engineering along with one more specialisation i.e. Electronics and Communication Engineering. Jawaharlal Nehru University offers BTech through School of Engineering in a full-time mode covering two specialisations, including  Computer Science and Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering. JNU admission to BTech is based on JEE Main scores, follwed by the counselling process. JNU cutoff 2024 has been released for admission to the BTech courses. Based on the Round 1 JEE Main cutoff 2024, the closing rank for CSE was 22669 for the General category students under the AII India Quota.
