Admission to the University of Kashmir, South Campus, is primarily merit-based. The minimum eligibility criteria for UKSC Anantnag UG admission is that the students should have 10+2/Intermediate/PUC.

The last date to apply for admission to the University of Kashmir for the 2024–2025 academic year is November 25, 2024. Admission is based on entrance test scores and merit scores from qualifying exams. Students who took the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) can also apply. To be eligible for admission to M.Sc. courses at University of Kashmir, South Campus, candidates must hold a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in a relevant topic from an accredited university with at least 50% of the possible points in order to be considered for admission to the University of Kashmir, South Campus's M.Sc. programs. However, this may differ for specific specialisations or reserved categories. 

Students selected for admission to various courses/programmes in the university are eligible to receive two merit scholarships which are paid to top two merit holders.

Merit scholarship in favour of previous year paid students is granted on the basis of merit in the EnteranceTest to the course and in the final year it is awarded on the basis of merit in the M.A/ M.Sc./ M.Com./ MLIS Previous/ Ist & 2nd semester examination. the scholarship is granted from the date of admission to the course upto the last date of the examination, subject to a maximunm period of 12 calendar months.
