KGMU grants admission to various UG and PG courses on the basis of various exams. For MD and MS specialisations, the cutoff is released on the basis of NEET PG. For MBBS and BDS admission, the cutoff is released on the basis of performance in the NEET and UP NEET exams. For MDS, NEET MDS is accepted and for MD/MDS, UP NEET PG is accepted. NEET SS, Meghalaya MBBS and Arunachal Pradesh NEET are also accepting exams for some courses.
KGMU accepts NEET PG scores for the admission to MD and MS specialisations. Recently, KGMU cutoff 2024 Round 2 seat allotment has been released by the institute. In order to get admission to DM at KGMU, the minimum eligibility criteria is to get a PG degree of MD/ MS or any equivalent. DM is a super specialisaed course, admission to this course is entirely entrance-based. For admission to this course, candidates have to check the eligibility in the first place and appear for NEET SS entrance exam. This entrance exam is conducted by NBE every year. Those who qualify this entrance exam will be allocated seats as per the NEET SS Counselling. For the counselling process, candidates have to register themselves on the official website of MCC.

Every year, the cut off marks for the KGMU NEET exam are affected due to the following factors:
- The difficulty level of the exam. In case the question paper is easy then the NEET cut offs are expected to go high and vice-versa.
- Total number of applications received. If the total applications received are less then the cut off is expected to be relaxed.
- Total candidates qualifying NEET exam. If the total number of qualifying candidates is less than the total seats then cut off goes low
- Total number of seats. If the total number of seats is revised and increased then cut off is expected to remain low
- Previous year cut offs. For the top colleges, the cut-off marks in previous years were high, therefore, only topper candidates could make it for final admissions. Fore other colleges, the cut off marks are relatively low.

KGMU BSc admission dates 2025 is most likely to be scheduled around Class 12 results. The selection criteria for the BSc programme is based on the merit obtained in the last qualifying exam. CBSE Class 12 results 2025 were out in the month of May. Similarly, UP Board Class 12 results 2025 were announced in the month of April.
For specialisations such as BSc Nursing, the selection is given on the basis of UP CNET. The registration opens in March. Admit cards were released in May and the entrance test was taken in the same month.

The NEET SS application fee is INR 3,500. The fee is same for candidates belonging to each category. This is the application fee for each group. Hence, candidates planning to apply for two groups will have to pay INR 7,000 (3,500 + 3,500). The fee has to be paid in online mode, via credit/debit card or net banking. NBE states, "Applications forms once submitted cannot be withdrawn. Fee shall neither be carried forward to a future date nor refunded under any circumstances. Application once submitted cannot be withdrawn. Any claim for refund, adjustment or carrying forward of Application fee will not be entertained. Examination fees in respect of candidates who are absent or have been declared ineligible due to any reason will be forfeited." As compared to last year, the fee has been reduced. Last year, the fee amount was INR 4,250 for each group.
KGMU cutoff 2024 for NEET UG Round 5 seat allotment has been released for the ST AI category candidates. As per KGMU NEET cutoff 2024, the cutoff rank for BDS for the ST category candidates belonging to All India Quota is 320828.
