KGMU accepts admission to most of the Medical courses through a valid score in NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test). The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is the sole entrance test for admission to the BDS and MBBS programmes in India. According to the KGMU (King George's Medical University) cutoff for Round 2 in 2023, the closing ranks for all BDS and MBBS specialisations ranged from 1647 to 26203. The exact multi-round timetable is managed by independent counselling bodies for MBBS seats at King George's Medical University. The process starts with online choice registration,   seat allocation results and physical verification. It spans 3-4 consecutive rounds, including mop-up stages.

Direct admission through donation or management quotas is completely unavailable for MBBS course at King George's Medical University. The university is a public government institution operating under strict medical council mandates. Every single student must clear the standard national level entrance examination to secure eligibility. All allocations happen strictly through official online counselling portals transparently.

The NEET SS application fee is INR 3,500. The fee is same for candidates belonging to each category. This is the application fee for each group. Hence, candidates planning to apply for two groups will have to pay INR 7,000 (3,500 + 3,500). The fee has to be paid in online mode, via credit/debit card or net banking. NBE states, "Applications forms once submitted cannot be withdrawn. Fee shall neither be carried forward to a future date nor refunded under any circumstances. Application once submitted cannot be withdrawn. Any claim for refund, adjustment or carrying forward of Application fee will not be entertained. Examination fees in respect of candidates who are absent or have been declared ineligible due to any reason will be forfeited." As compared to last year, the fee has been reduced. Last year, the fee amount was INR 4,250 for each group.
