The opening and closing rank depends on the category and quota of candidates. For the General category under All India, the opening rank was 20731 and the closing rank was 25581. Cut off are different when it comes to other categories or female candidates and even domicile of home state. Admission to Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) at KGMU - King George's Medical University is based on the scores obtained in the entrance exam NEET. The last year’s 2022 cutoff ranks for Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) at KGMU - King George's Medical University other than the General category are - 31682 for OBC, 120239 for SC, 24859 for EWS, 23381 for PWD. While the admissions are based on the scores/rank obtained in the NEET exam, the last cut-offs also change a lot depending on the All India quota or Home State.

"KGMU - King George's Medical University will release 4-5 rounds of NEET cutoffs for admission to medical courses. The cutoffs will be released on a rolling basis, and the seats will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. The cutoffs will be based on the following factors:
- The NEET score of the candidate
- The category of the candidate
- The number of seats available in the course
Candidates must visit the official website of the entrance exam to read clear instructions on how to proceed with the counselling process, once the round is released."
The NEET SS application fee is INR 3,500. The fee is same for candidates belonging to each category. This is the application fee for each group. Hence, candidates planning to apply for two groups will have to pay INR 7,000 (3,500 + 3,500). The fee has to be paid in online mode, via credit/debit card or net banking. NBE states, "Applications forms once submitted cannot be withdrawn. Fee shall neither be carried forward to a future date nor refunded under any circumstances. Application once submitted cannot be withdrawn. Any claim for refund, adjustment or carrying forward of Application fee will not be entertained. Examination fees in respect of candidates who are absent or have been declared ineligible due to any reason will be forfeited." As compared to last year, the fee has been reduced. Last year, the fee amount was INR 4,250 for each group.
While filling NEET SS application form, candidates have to upload following documents or files:
- Photograph
- Signature
- Thumb impression
Two separate photographs have to be uploaded. first one has to be a passport-size photograph. second photo has to be clicked on webcam of desktop or laptop while filling form and uploading it. Candidates have to upload documents in given format only, otherwise their NEET SS applications are not accepted.
NEET PG schedule involves dates of events related to exam. Whole schedule is released by exam conducting body along with the official information brochure. From last few years, the exam is getting delayed from its usual schedule. NEET PG 2023 exam was held in March while NEET PG 2022 exam in May. In 2021, the exam was held in september. NEET PG exam used to be held in January before Corona. NEET PG 2024 exam was held on August 11, 2024. NEET PG 2025 was scheduled on June 15, 2025 but it was postponed to August 3, 2025 Candidates can refer the table comprising tentative dates for NEET PG exam for 2025-26 session.

The NEET SS application process is completely online. The first step is to register, followed by filling up the application form. The step by step process to register and application for NEET SS is given below:
- Visit the official website of NEET SS or NBE
- Click on the Registration tab
- Enter the mandatory details
- Select password
- Enter the OTP
- Once the username and password is generated, candidates have to login to complete the application process
- Enter the mandatory details regarding personal details, academic details, uploading photographs and payment of the application fee.
NEET PG 2025 application form was released on April 17, 2025. Deadline to submit NEET PG 2025 application form was May 7, 2025. Application form reopened to choose exam city from June 13 to June 17, 2025. Exam was held on August 3, 2025 in computer-based mode.
The NEET SS 2025 application form is expected to be released by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) in the first week of November 2025. Along with the NEET SS 2025 application form, NBEMS will also release the notification and information bulletin. The NEET SS application process is completely online. Candidates have to visit the official website of NBEMS and go to the NEET SS exam section. After that, they have to read the complete instructions before registration, followed by the application. The NEET SS 2025 exam will be conducted on December 26 and December 27, 2025.

Yes both colleges are good for MD in Medicine.
The difference is not dramatic—I wouldd call it KGMU 9/10 vs SMS 8.5–8.8/10 for MD Medicine. If you are from Rajasthan and prefer Jaipur, choosing SMS over KGMU would still be a very reasonable decision. If both are equally convenient, I'd take KGMU.
