Q:   What are the factors affecting KGMU cutoff 2024?
    A:

Every year, the cut off marks for the KGMU NEET exam are affected due to the following factors:

    • The difficulty level of the exam. In case the question paper is easy then the NEET cut offs are expected to go high and vice-versa.
    • Total number of applications received. If the total applications received are less then the cut off is expected to be relaxed.
    • Total candidates qualifying NEET exam. If the total number of qualifying candidates is less than the total seats then cut off goes low
    • Total number of seats. If the total number of seats is revised and increased then cut off is expected to remain low
    • Previous year cut offs. For the top colleges, the cut-off marks in previous years were high, therefore, only topper candidates could make it for final admissions. Fore other colleges, the cut off marks are relatively low.

It is a good college in terms of knowledge and skill development. It also has good placements.
Placements: I am currently in the 2nd year of a B.Sc. in Nursing course. It is 4 years course. I will pass out in the 2027 year, and currently, I am in 3rd semester. My college is associated with Atal Bihar Vajpayee Medical University, which conducts all the entrance exams for B.Sc. in nursing admission, and also the final year examinations are conducted by this university.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of my college is pretty good, and if we look externally, our college looks pretty good. The main thing is it has a clean and hygienic environment which our college maintains and makes it pretty attractive. Classrooms are calm with a quiet environment in which students can study quietly with full concentration. Our college has a library with a variety of course books and fictional books.
Faculty: Our college has many qualified teachers and faculty members who have a qualified degree and fabulous knowledge about everything. Some of our experienced professionals have a genius mindset of great knowledge which they have gained from their skills, knowledge, and experience.
Other: I chose the B.Sc in nursing after completing my intermediate school examinations. I failed in the first attempt at NEET and my family condition was not good so I did not drop out of NEET, and without wasting more years I took the CNET exam for a B.Sc in nursing and got selected in this college. The best thing about this course is that it has a great scope of jobs and success in the future after completion of this course. I wish this course should have less number of theory works.

KGMU College of Nursing, Best Place for Nursing.
Placements: There are about 110 students in my batch. The B.Sc. Nursing can offer from about 25k per month to about 4 Lacs per month, based on your experience and the place you're practicing. For example, in Indian private hospitals, as a fresher, you can get around 25k, while in government hospitals, you can get up to 80k, and in Australia, you can get up to 400k.
Infrastructure: In our college, there is Wi-Fi available for the students, which they need to register for first at the IT cell of the college. The lecture halls are fully air-conditioned, and there is a fire safety system in each class. We are provided with a health card, with which we can get our health checkups.
Faculty: The faculty is very nice and supportive, and there are always some exceptions, which is the case here too. The course curriculum is nice, but the attendance criteria are very disturbing for students, requiring 100% attendance in their clinicals. It should be around 80%.

A really good infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: Placements aren't provided by this college, but you have to clear the exams for nursing officer, by which you will get placement further according to the exams you have filled. 70-80% of students are placed in the best colleges, and others are pursuing M.Sc. Yes, there is an internship available in the course duration, in which you have to do regular duties in KGMU.
Infrastructure: The facilities provided by the college are proper water facilities, projectors, AC classrooms, fire alarms on each and every floor with water sprays attached in every classroom, labs for better understanding of students, and a library where you can find your course books easily. The quality of the hostel is not that good; I would rate it as average. The mess and canteen are good. Events are organized every year, such as Sports Week, where different games like the 400-meter run race and relay race are held.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and approachable, and they are well-qualified and knowledgeable. They teach very well; the quality of teaching is not that excellent but above average. The course curriculum is according to the students, which makes it easier as it follows a semester-wise system. The difficulty of semester exams is moderate—not that difficult, not that easy. The pass percentage is 50%.
Other: I chose this course as it serves humanity and has better opportunities for the future, with high exposure to clinical areas that will enhance and improve our knowledge in terms of health services. I wish the attendance percentage and medical leave policies should be given more consideration. There are many events held in this college, such as Rhapsody, Freshers, Saraswati Pooja, Holi, Diwali, etc. The campus surroundings are good, especially in particular areas.
