College offers a good campus life.
Placements: About 75 percent of students are placed through campus interviews themselves. The highest package in the last academic year for Computer Science and Engineering was 14 LPA from a Japanese company. Top recruiting companies include TCS, Infosys, IBM, etc. Most of the roles are for software engineers.
Infrastructure: The college has a very good infrastructure. All classrooms are properly vented and kept tidy. There are 3 libraries in total in each block. College has separate hostels for boys and girls inside the campus itself, and the food and accommodation in the hostel are well settled.
Faculty: The college and the department have a very good faculty who have years of experience in the teaching field. They provide notes and study materials of their own and not from outside sources. The courses are curriculum-relevant and help students with placements.

Supportive teaching and good placement training.
Placements: The placement opportunities are good. Students become eligible for placements in the final year. Our college provides regular training in aptitude, soft skills, and interview preparation. Many reputed companies visit the campus every year, like Infosys, Wipro, and IBM. About 70 percent of students got placed in different companies, and they got a package from 3 LPA to 8 LPA.
Infrastructure: The campus is spacious and well-maintained. Classrooms have projectors and boards. The laboratories are equipped with many systems for practical learning. The library has a good collection of textbooks and reference books. Computer labs have proper internet access and updated software.
Faculty: The faculty members in my college are well-qualified, experienced, and supportive. Teachers explain concepts clearly and are approachable for doubt clearing. They guide us in academics, projects, and exam preparation. Internal exams and lab internals are conducted accurately, which students find university exams easier.

B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering - Batch of 2028
Offered by Government Engineering College, Kozhikode
3.2

The college is average and strict compared to other government colleges. It has good infrastructure.
Placements: Placements are average. The average package ranges from 3-4 LPA. Most of the placement packages are in this range. Many core companies come here for placements. Many students opt for higher studies, so the placement statistics are quite average compared to other departments.
Infrastructure: Overall, the infrastructure is quite good, even though our college is quite small compared to other government colleges in Kerala. Facilities are good. Ladies' hostels are good compared to other hostels. It is clean, and the food is also good. Sports are also quite nice.
Faculty: Faculty members are good and well-qualified. Their teaching is quite good. The course curriculum is just average. We hardly get 4 months for a semester. The difficulty level of semester exams is moderate. Sometimes it gets worse. The percentage of our batch till now is above 86 percent.
Other: I chose this course because chemical engineering is a very good option, and if we like Physics and are daring. But we rarely get study materials. We have to refer to books to get good grades and understand the subject. Events happen sometimes. NSS, ISTE, IEEE, etc., are available.

TIST Arakkunnam: An honest review from a fresher.
Placements: Placements are decent for CSE, IT, and Safety branches. Mass recruiters like TCS and Infosys offer an average of 3.5–4.5 LPA, though high packages can reach 12 LPA. The placement cell offers dedicated training for technical grounds, which is a huge advantage when trying to crack higher package offers.
Infrastructure: TIST has a green, open campus that offers a quiet place to study. The labs are well equipped, and the large library is a really useful resource for students. Overall, the infrastructure is practical and simple, making it a good spot to focus on coursework.
Faculty: The department benefits from experienced faculty members whose advice helps bridge the gap between theory and practice. While the schedule can get busy, focusing on labs and solving previous year papers makes the exams quite manageable.

Good placements in the past couple of years in our college.
Placements: The average LPA that our CS branch has received during the past academic year has been around 6–6.5 LPA. Top recruiting companies for our course are Cognizant, Infosys, UST, and KarTech. Currently, the placement drive is still going on, and as of now, companies like UST, Infosys, and Cognizant have recruited a good number of students and have offered good packages.
Infrastructure: Overall, the infrastructure is satisfactory. Wi-Fi often seems to be slow, especially in the basement-level labs. Classrooms and libraries are well maintained. All necessary resources are provided in the library. Regarding sports, necessary training and coaching are provided for students in football, kho-kho, etc., for both boys and girls. The food in the canteen is healthy, budget-friendly, and satisfactory.
Faculty: We have well-structured placement training since the 1st semester, which helps us develop our skills and gain confidence so that we are able to perform our best during placements. The faculty of the CS department are highly qualified and skilled. Our department has an overall pass percentage of 83.81 percent (2024–2028 batch).
Other: There are many opportunities provided by the department, which are extremely beneficial for students for skill development, etc.

One of the best Privately owned college in Trivandrum.
Placements: 30 percent of students are placed through the college placement cell and the package offered will the maximised upto 50000 and a minimum of 15000. Mainly, roles offered are IT related and also non IT roles are available. In my class, almost 50 percent of students got internships in small companies.
Infrastructure: The college hostel food got many complaints a few months before and now its okay. Now they are providing good food and snacks for the students, which happens once in a blue moon. Anyway, we can rate it almost 4 out of 5 but I am not a hosteler.
Faculty: All the teachers are helpful and they will help us to get good marks in both internal and external exams by providing assignments, projects, seminars, important questions etc. Actually, I do not think the things we studied in B.Tech will be applied in any industry except for some of the core subjects.
