MG University Course Admissions 2025: Dates, Fees, Eligibility, Selection, Application Form

Mahatma Gandhi Univerity Common Admission Test (MGU CAT) application fee is announced category-wise. The application fee for general and open all-India quota candidates is INR 1,200 and INR 600 for the SC/ST candidates. Moreover, the fee for international candidates is UD 100. Yes, the university offers admission based on national and university-based entrance exams. There are some courses which are offered on the basis of merit scores. MGU admission to the UG courses is done on the basis of marks secured in the entrance examination conducted by the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations. MGU Kerala conducts a Common Admission Test (majorly known as MGU CAT) for admission to all PG courses. However, it also accepts several national-level entrance exams for MBA and PhD admissions.

In addition to this, MG University also offers distance learning courses through its Center For Online Education (COE). MG University admissions to all the programmes offered by the university and the affiliated colleges are conducted through a Centralised Allotment Process (CAP).

MG University admissions to PhD programme is based on a valid score in UGC NET/ CSIR NET/ GATE/ GPAT/ SLET/ JSET/ University Entrance Test. The eligible students can fill out the application form to apply. The admission process is carried out through a centralised allotment process (CAP). Candidates are selected based on their score in the last qualifying exam. MGU BA application forms can be filled out via online or offline modes. To apply online, students need to visit the university's official website. The steps to apply are as follows:

Step 1: Visit the MGU CAP official website and click on “Account Creation”.

Step 2: Enter basic details to generate a login ID and password.

Step 3: After account creation, an 8-digit application number is provided that the student must retain.

Step 4: Fill out the application form.

Step 5: Payment of the application fee.

Step 6: Upload the digital copies of the important documents.

Step 7: Take a printout of the confirmation page.

MGU Kerala admit candidates to the MBA course based on merit in CMAT/CAT/KMAT KERALA/KMAT/MAT/XAT/Karnataka PGCET/MGU CAP. Candidates seeking admission with a valid score in either of the accepted exams can apply. Some of the affiliated colleges offering the Management course may accept other entrance exam scores as well. During the form filling and at the time of admission, candidates should carry the scorecard of the respective entrance exam.

Furthermore, candidates without any entrance score can take the MGU CAT exam. Admission is granted based on this university exam score as well.

The MGU MSc course aspirants with a valid BSc or equivalent degree with at least 50% aggregate are eligible to apply. However, it is necessary that the candidate did the degree course in the relevant stream. The eligibility criteria for some of the MSc specialisations is mentioned below for reference:

Students getting admitted to the MG University BA course must have passed Class 12 with a minimum aggregate. The selection list will be announced by the university in an online mode. Admission to the BA course at MG University is based on a Centralised Allotment Process (CAP). Eligible candidates can apply online by visiting the official website of MG University. 

In 2023, the MG University Kerela cutoff was concluded after the release of the seat allotment for fourth round. The cutoff for the UG courses is determined based on applicants aggregate in the last qualifying examination. The MG University application fee is INR 1,000 for students belonging to the General AI category. The fee can be paid online via a credit card/debit card/net banking. The application cost is INR 500 for the SC and ST categories.

The MG University B.Ed course fee is the overall amount covering various components, such as tuition fee, admission fee, library fee, security deposit, etc. The course fee is required to be paid at the time of admission to confirm the seat. The application fee for admission to MG University-affiliated colleges is INR 1,300 for B.Ed. for students belonging to the General AI category. For SC/ST categories, the application cost is INR 600, and the payment can be made via debit card/credit card/net banking. 

MGU admissions 2024 are now closed. The students can apply for the desired UG and PG courses. Check below some important event dates:

• MGU UG application form was released on May 15 and the last date to apply was Jun 7. Additionally, the provisional merit list shall be published was Jun 12.
• The last date to apply for MBA and MGU-CAT was May 5, 2024. CAT-MGU was held between May 17 and May 18, 2024. Admission to most of the PG courses is based on MGU CAT conducted by the university.

There are no direct scholarships available for students at Mahatma Gandhi University. Students at the Mahatma Gandhi University are eligible to apply for scholarships provided by national state, and local authorities as well as the UGC. Below is the list of scholarships that students can avail of:

The basic eligibility criteria that students must fulfil to avail Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students are given below:

• The applicant must be above the 80th percentile of successful candidates in the relevant stream from the respective Board of Examination in Class 12 or equivalent.
• The applicant must be pursuing regular degree courses and not correspondence or distance mode or pursuing Diploma courses.
• The applicant must be pursuing courses at colleges/institutions recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education and the respective Regulatory Bodies concerned.
• The applicant must not be availing the benefit of any other scholarship schemes including State-run scholarship schemes/ fee waivers & reimbursement schemes.
• The gross parental/family income of the applicant should not exceed ?4,50,000 per annum.
• For renewal of scholarship in each year of study, besides getting at least 50% marks in the Annual Examination, maintenance of adequate attendance of at least 75%, will also be the criteria.
