Good infrastructure but not enough for students doing engineering.
Placements: We have just passed the 1st year now, but the placement rate is average in Silicon, to be honest. The highest package is 37 LPA, and the lowest is 3 LPA. Top recruiting companies like Infosys, Cognizant, Wipro, etc. Many students from the college got good internships, like in local companies as well as in Amazon and Flipkart.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is given in labs and classrooms but not in hostels. Library and lawn everywhere Wi-Fi is there. AC classrooms are there with Wi-Fi. All amenities are given in the hostel but not the Wi-Fi. Students are facing many problems due to this only. Study hour is maintained inside the campus, for which, from 6 to 9, no student is allowed to roam outside.
Faculty: Teachers are very good, cooperative, and understanding. Internships as well as courses are making us industry-ready. Questions really are not that hard but not easy, like it's a good question set. Questions are not really tough for students who actually study, but for those who don't, actually.
Other: The CSE branch of Silicon is famous for its placement and package, so I chose it. It would be better if Wi-Fi were given to hostels because students have to move to either the library or the lawn to access it. Connectivity between students is good, and the seniors are helpful.

Absolutely satisfied because of faculty and good placements from 2019, but not good infrastructure.
Placements: The placement percentage is 75-80%. They secured job offers. The salary packages varied from year to year. The highest package till now is 32.5 LPA. The average package is 5.16 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Accenture, Capgemini, Amazon, DXC Technology, Deloitte, Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Cognizant, and IBM. 272 internship offers were made, with a stipend ranging from Rs. 8,000 - 60,000 per month.
Infrastructure: There is no Wi-Fi in the hostel but in some classrooms it is available. Hostel has AC and also non-AC rooms, a water cooler, washing machines, network routers, water heaters, etc. The quality of the mess and canteen food is not the best but good compared to other colleges. Doctors are available in the hostel for 1-2 days per week. Badminton courts are available in all hostels and other courts are available outside the hostel.
Faculty: Teachers are so helpful and friendly. The best part of this college is they provide excellent teaching experience with their faculty members. They teach us from the beginning and clear out fundamentals. Semester exams are not so hard. If you clear your fundamentals and study for 1-2 hours minimum every day, you can easily crack it. The pass percentage is 80-85%.
Other: I chose this course because it has a good placement percentage. There are not so many large events in this college because of less infrastructure areas but some events are organised like Rythm Nova, Zygon, New Year, Diwali, etc.

Review of Silicon University - Do join for studies and memories.
Placements: The placement is going better compared to 2024, with mass hiring companies like Deloitte, Infosys, and Cognizant visiting. The lowest package offered is 3.6 LPA, the average is 4.5 LPA, and the highest has gone up to 17.5 LPA for now. However, another 3 months are left from February to May, so these may differ. Out of around 800 students, almost 300 secured internships. Roles usually are for Software Development or Full Stack Engineers, and sometimes for Machine Learning Engineers.
Infrastructure: There is no Wi-Fi in the hostel, but it is available in the library, some classrooms, and Skylab. Food is average in the hostel. There are great opportunities for sports and games. College also has medical facilities. If you don't wish to eat in the canteen you can eat at the cafeteria.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified. The course curriculum is designed for industrial studies and helps a lot in interviews. College exams are of average difficulty. You can study using PDFs provided by subject teachers and can also ask your teachers to provide important questions.
Other: I chose this course because I wanted to study Computer Science and I have a keen interest in coding. There are several events like technical and cultural fests, quiz contests, etc.

Silicon University: A comprehensive review of education and campus life.
Placements: The course is structured to provide both solid theoretical and practical skills that are essential in the field of engineering. Silicon University offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. In last year, 84% of students were placed with good CTC. The average salary was around 5 LPA. The highest was around 32 LPA. Top recruiters were Infosys, Capgemini, DXC, Wipro, Flipkart, and many more.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of Silicon is modern and as per the needs of students. Campus has labs in various engineering departments. Classrooms are spacious. There is a dedicated exam hall, training hall, skill development, and many more. The college library is well stocked by good collection of books, research papers, and journals. Free Wi-Fi is available on campus. Two canteens, serving vegetarian and non-vegetarian food, and one cafeteria are available on campus. Food quality is good.
Faculty: Faculty members in college are highly qualified and experienced in many fields and industries. The teaching methodology in college is a blend of traditional lectures, practical sessions, and interactive sessions ensuring students understand theoretical and practical application. There are two exams in a semester, which makes it easy to score good marks. Passing percentage is 40 %. Professors are knowledgeable and good.
Other: Silicon University is known for its strong academic framework and provides a comprehensive curriculum that prepares students for demands of industry. College offers various UG and PG courses such as B.Tech, M.Tech, and I-MCA. Odisha's top tech fest NIRMAN is conducted by Silicon. Park Up Summit is organized to promote entrepreneurship. Zygon was the top fest in college. It was organized in February by the Silicon student council.

Good placement opportunities.
Placements: 80 percent of students are placed in my department. The highest package is almost 28 Lacs per annum, and the average package is 4.5 Lacs per annum. Top recruiting companies are HP, Accenture, Infosys, Mindtree, Go Digit, etc. Many companies come with internship opportunities, like Haber, Mindfire, Aptus Data Labs, etc. Top roles offered are Software Developer Intern, Web Developer, etc.
Infrastructure: The facilities available are quite good. The library is available with discussion rooms and a reading area. There are lecture halls with AC facilities. The hostels have attached balconies in each room. There is cleanliness in the hostel as well as in the campus. Wi-Fi is available in Skylab and the library but not in the hostels.
Faculty: The faculty members are good, helpful, and well-educated. They are punctual and serious regarding the classes. The classes are conducted on time, and the syllabus is covered timely. The exam pattern is good, with mid-sem exams of 25 marks and end-sem exams of 60 marks. The pass percentage is 80.
Other: I chose this course because of the placement opportunities the college provides. The improvement required is in terms of space; there is little space to hang out with friends. Zygon is the annual fest held, with many other fests conducted by respective clubs.

At above 4 lakh rank in jee mains it is quite difficult to get CSE in Silicon Institute of Technology because the cutoff rank is about 2.5 lakh rank. You can get Sambalpur campus eadily but not the main campus.
