PU MET 2025 result 2025 will likely be announced in the third week of May 2025. PU MET 2025 was conducted on April 27, 2025. The exam was conducted in a paper-based test mode. PU MET application form 2025 was released on January 22, 2025. The last date of PU MET registration 2025 was April 20, 2025. The aspirants could apply online on the official website of Punjab University.

PUMET stands for Punjab University Management Entrance Test. It is an entrance exam conducted by Panjab University, Chandigarh, for admission to its MBA programmes offered by the University Institute of Applied Management Sciences (UIAMS). Q:   Can I appear for PU MET exam more than once?
A: 

No, candidates cannot appear more than once for the PU MET. The PU MET is held only once a year. Candidates have to wait for the next session if they miss this year's exam. The PU MET is being conducted in the PBT (paper-based test) mode. Based on the PU MET scores, students can apply for admission to various programmes offered by PU MET participating colleges. The exam will only be conducted in the paper-based test mode for all the sessions. The difficulty level of the PU MET is usually easy and the candidates can easily prepare for this exam. Panjab University Management Entrance Test or PU MET is a common aptitude test conducted by the University for admission to MBA programmes offered by the University Institute of Applied Management Sciences (UIAMS) of Panjab University

Candidates who appear for the PU MET exam can avail admission to various specialisations such as MBA in Banking and Insurance Management, MBA in Pharmaceutical Management, MBA in Retail Management, MBA in IT & Telecommunications Management, MBA in Infrastructural Management, and MBA in Hospital Management.

Q:   Is the syllabus for PUMET similar to other MBA entrance exams?
A: 

The PU MET syllabus is same as other MBA entrance exams, which is Data Interpretation, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude or Numerical Ability, English Comprehension and General Awareness, only their nomenclature is different. So, candidates preparing for PU MET has to study the same subject, topics and sub-topics that they have to study in CAT, MAT or CMAT, etc. Also, the PU MET exam has a unique section, Business Environment, but the difficulty level of this section is usually easy. 

In fact, candidates can use the same books for studying for PU MET as well as other MBA entrance exams. In terms of difficulty level of the exam, PU MET is easier in comparison to other MBA entrance exams. The difficulty level of PU MET question paper is usually easy and there is no sectional time limit.

Q:   Would I get admission to the colleges directly on the basis of the PU MET result?
A: 

No, candidates who have appeared for the PU MET exam, and cleared the cutoff, will be required to appear for the further admission process, which includes Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). Candidates need to meet the cutoff criteria of the participating institutes to take admissions. Other factors such as academic record, work experience, etc. are also considered for admission to various institutes which accept PU MET scores.

Q:   Can I request a re-evaluation of the PU MET result if I am not satisfied?
A: 

No, there is no provision of re-evaluation of the PU MET scores. Candidates can check their answers once the PU MET answer key is released and raise objections if there is an error. However, once the final answer key for PU MET is out, those answers will be considered final.

Q:   What is the duration and mode of PU MET exam?
A: 

The PU MET exam will be conducted in the paper-based test mode across different test centres. Candidates will be required to visit the exam centre with their admit card and take the test. They will be required to mark their answers on the OMR sheet and finally submit it to the invigilator. The PU MET exam will be conducted for two hours or 120 minutes. Students must reach the exam centre at least an hour before the exam begins. 

Q:   Does PU MET exam have subjective type of questions?
A: 

The PU MET exam consists mostly of objective-type questions, such as multiple-choice questions (MCQs), and there may not be subjective questions included in the exam. The exam pattern typically includes sections with objective-type questions. 

Each question carries one mark, and there are 200 questions spread across the six sections of the PU MET question paper. The medium of the PU MET question paper is English.

PU MET Eligibility Criteria 2025

MBA in Retail Management and MBA in Banking and Insurance Management

  • Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in any discipline from Panjab University or any other university recognised by UGC/AICTE with minimum 50% aggregate or
  • Candidate must have passed the final examination either from (a) Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or England or (b) Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India or England or (c) Institute of Company Secretaries of India or
  • Candidate must have passed the AMIE examination with a minimum of 50% aggregate or the diploma examination with a minimum of 60% aggregate and has at least five years of research/teaching or professional experience

MBA in Information Technology & Telecommunications Management

  • Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree (BE/BTech in any Branch) from Panjab University or its affiliated colleges with a minimum of 50% aggregate or
  • Candidate must have passed a bachelor’s degree in any Science subject with Physics or Mathematics from Panjab University or its affiliated colleges with a minimum 50% aggregate or
  • Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Applications (BCA) from Panjab University or its affiliated college with a minimum of 50% aggregate or
  • Candidate must have passed AMIE examination with a minimum 50% aggregate or has passed diploma examination with 60% aggregate and has at least five years of research/teaching or professional experience 

MBA in Pharmaceutical Management

  • Candidate must have passed bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from Panjab University or its affiliated colleges with a minimum 50% aggregate or

Q:   What is the eligibility to apply for PU MET exam?
A: 

The eligibility criteria differs for each course offered through PU MET exam. However, the basic eligibility criteria is as follows:

  • Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university in any discipline.

A: 

The PU MET application process is completely online. The PU MET application form will be available online and the candidates who wish to appear for the exam will be required to register by filling out the PU MET application form. The candidates must have the following documents before filing the PU MET application form:

  • Scanned recent coloured passport-size photograph
  • Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets
  • Date of birth certificate
  • Photo ID proof
  • Caste certificate (if applicable)
Q:   Who is eligible to download PU MET admit card?
A: 

The PU MET admit card will be available online on the official website. Students who have successfully submitted the PU MET application form before the deadline can download their PU MET admit cards. But, if the candidate has not paid the PU MET application fee, then they will not be eligible to download the PU MET admit card. Hence, the candidate must have completed the entire PU MET application process in order to download the PU MET admit card. 

The candidates must note, that the PU MET admit card will have correct details only if they have filled the application form with correct and true information. If there is a discrepancy in the admit card, students should immediately contact the examination authorities.

PU MET Application Process 2025

Step 1: Fill in the Application form

Candidates need to register and fill PU MET 2025 application form to be able to appear for the exam. Candidates belonging to the General and OBC categories need to pay INR 2710 as an application fee. While candidates belonging to the SC/ST/Persons with Disability (PwD) need to pay INR 1355 to apply for the exam. The fee can be paid online or at the SBI branch using the website-generated e-Challan. 

Step 2: Download PU MET 2025 Admit Card

Registered candidates will be issued PU MET 2025 admit card. Admit cards will be available on the official website and will not be sent to the candidates through post. Candidates can download hall tickets till exam day by using their login ID and password. 

Step 3: Appear for PU MET 2025

PU MET 2025 exam was held in Paper-Based Test mode (PBT) at the Chandigarh Centre of the University. The exam duration will be for two hours.

Step 4: Check PU MET 2025 Result

PU MET 2025 result will be announced on the official website. No scoresheet will be sent to the postal address of the appearing candidates. To view the result, candidates will need to log in by using the application number and password. 

Step 5: Group Discussion and Personal Interview

Candidates who will clear PU MET 2025 exam will be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview. Candidates called for the GD-PI is around eight times that of the total number of seats available for MBA courses in each category. To apply for the PU MET exam 2025, students have to fill the PU MET application form online. They have to visit the official website of UIAMS or PU MET to fill the application form. Students can follow the steps mentioned below to know how to apply for the PU MET exam 2025:

  • Visit the official website
  • Click on the registration link
  • Enter personal details such as candidate's name, father’s name, mother’s name, working mobile number, DOB, valid email ID
  • Write down the application number, password and login ID
  • Download and print the SBI deposit slip
  • Pay the application fee online using a Debit/Credit card or UPI facility or
  • Deposit the exam fee at any SBI branch minimum of one day after printing the bank slip

After the fee payment, wait for 24 hours and then log in to user account to upload a scanned copy of the recent passport size coloured photograph, signature and fill in other important information. Now, a copy of the printout of the filled-in PU MET application form along with the requisite documents can be submitted to the PU MET office before the last date of submission of application forms at the centre.

The PU MET application fee is different for different categories. The application fee for the General category students is INR 2,710 and the application fee for SC/ST/OBC categories is INR 1,355. Candidates can pay the application fee online using a credit card, debit card, internet banking, UPI or offline through e-challan from the SBI bank branch.

A: 

Yes, there is a fee concession for the students belonging to the reserved category. PU MET 2025 application fee for candidates belonging to the General and OBC categories is INR 2710 while, for candidates belonging to SC/ST category, the application fee is INR 1,355. The candidates can pay the PU MET application fee online using a credit card, debit card, internet banking, and offline as well by downloading the fee challan and submit a printout of it along with the fee amount to any nearest SBI Bank branch.

PU MET Exam Day Guidelines

Mentioned below are a few exam day guidelines that the students must follow:

  • Candidates need to reach Chandigarh centre at least one hour before the PU MET exam
  • Candidates new to Chandigarh should check exam centre location at least a day before to avoid the last-minute rush
  • Candidates must carry PU MET admit card and one photo identity proof issued by the Government of India on the exam day
  • Candidates should not wear a wristwatch, carry a calculator, smartphone or any other electronic gadget inside the exam hall
  • Carry a pen and pencil for the test. Do not take any rough sheets inside the exam hall.

Q:   What is the marking scheme of PU MET exam?
A: 

PU MET has a total of 200 questions. For each correct attempt, one mark is awarded and one mark is deducted for an incorrect attempt. There is no deduction of marks for unanswered questions. Therefore, the total marks of PU MET is 200. Candidates must choose the questions to solve very carefully and smartly as they will not be awarded marks for incorrect answers. If they are not sure of the correct answer, they should leave the question instead of taking a chance as there is no negative marking.

Q:   Is there a sectional time limit in PU MET exam?
A: 

No, there is no sectional time limit in the PU MET exam. The PU MET exam is conducted in the paper-based test mode or offline mode hene sectional timings do not make sense. Candidates have the flexibility to allocate time across the six sections of the PU MET question paper as they see fit within the total of two hours duration.
