PU MET exam pattern 2026: The Panjab University, Chandigarh designs the PU MET exam pattern. The exam pattern highlights the mode of the exam, the format of the questions in the exam, the marking scheme, total questions in the exam paper and other important details. PU MET 2026 exam will be conducted in the paper based test mode. The students have to take the exam by marking correct answers on the OMR sheet. The duration of the exam is two hours. PU MET 2026 exam pattern detailed highlights are mentioned below:

  • The weightage of PU MET entrance test will be 85%. Group Discussion and Personal Interview will carry a weightage of 7.5% each.
  • The duration of the exam will be two hours
  • PU MET 2026 exam paper will consist of MCQ questions
  • Every question will consist of four responses
  • The PU MET question paper 2026 will have six sections, namely, General Knowledge, Economics and Business Environment Awareness, Data Interpretation and Problem Solving, Numerical Ability, Verbal Ability/ Reasoning and English Comprehension

PU MET has a total of 200 questions. For each correct attempt, one mark is awarded and one mark is deducted for an incorrect attempt. There is no deduction of marks for unanswered questions. Therefore, the total marks of PU MET is 200. Candidates must choose the questions to solve very carefully and smartly as they will not be awarded marks for incorrect answers. If they are not sure of the correct answer, they should leave the question instead of taking a chance as there is no negative marking.

Q:   Is there a sectional time limit in PU MET exam?

No, there is no sectional time limit in the PU MET exam. The PU MET exam is conducted in the paper-based test mode or offline mode hene sectional timings do not make sense. Candidates have the flexibility to allocate time across the six sections of the PU MET question paper as they see fit within the total of two hours duration.

No, candidates can only download the PU MET admit card online from the website of Punjab University or PUMET website. Once the candidates have successfully registered for the PU MET exam, they will be allowed to download admit card once released.
