FAQs on NMAT Question Papers

Check the space below for important FAQs related to NMAT sample papers:

Q:   Which subjects do I have to study for NMAT?
A:

GMAC designs NMAT question papers with three sections, namely Language Skills, Quantitative Skills, and Logical Reasoning. NMAT sylabus has sections similar to other MBA exams.

Q:   Can I crack NMAT through self study?
A:

Yes, cracking NMAT through self study is achievable. One must have a structured study plan, right set of study material, and must practice questions consistently to prepare for NMAT through self study.

Q:   What is NMAT exam pattern?
A:

NMAT exam is designed with 108 questions to be answered within 120 minutes. Candidates can appear for NMAT in computer based test mode. 108 questions of NMAT exam is divided equally into three sections, namely Language Skills, Quantitative Skills, and Logical Reasoning.

Q:   I am confused between NMAT and SNAP. Will the preparation of NMAT help me in the preparation of SNAP.
A:

Yes, preparation for NMAT and SNAP can be done together as most of the syllabus of both the exams are identical. Candidates are always recommended to appear for both the exams together if you are planning to give any one. Both NMAT and SNAP have four broad sections, that include Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Ability and Language skills. The names of these sections can change across different exams but are identical in relation to the MBA entrance exams.

Although one can prepare for all MBA entrance exams simultaneously, candidates must tweak the preparation strategy and fine tune a particular type of questions that are seen typically in each of the entrance exam. Some of the tips top prepare for both NMAT and SNAPT simultaneously are as follows:

  1. Begin by practicing conceptual questions with easy to moderate level difficulty.
  2. Learn about a lot of tips and tricks which can be used for both NMAT and SNAP. This saves a lot of time while attempting questions.
  3. Once the concept is clear, one must move on to moderate to tough questions. Transitioning from easy to difficult questions will help candidates preparing for different MBA entrance exams.
  4. Candidates must appear for mock tests of both NMAT and SNAP to get the clarity in terms of the pattern, difficulty standards, type of questions, and more.
  5. Start with NMAT mock tests as NMAT exam typically commences in the month of October, while the SNAP exam date lies around December.

Taking the mock tests for both SNAP and NMAT will provide a base to develop an exam day strategy for both the exams.

Q:   Is the syllabus for CMAT, NMAT and Maharastra CET different or similar?
A:
The syllabus of cmat ,nmat is almost the same.but the difference is in the level of difficulty that these tests have.as per to my knowledge NMAT is more difficult compared to CMAT .but the portion is the same. you ll be studying and attempting questions that fall within the syllabus provided by coaching classes. when it comes to C.E.T it is different than NMAT and CMAT .the level of difficulty is very easy compared to these tests .you will come across normal level questions of quantitative, verbal, logic and data interpretation. Also there are different set of questions in the verbal and logic section of the paper for which you should buy books that are focused and made only for cet preparations for it contains those questions ,you can also buy C.E.T mocks to understand the paper pattern, the time duration that you get to solve each question, and to make your strategies of solving the paper in C.E.T exams.
Q:   Do NMAT reference books comprise answers to all the questions?
A:

Official NMAT reference book, also known as NMAT by GMAC Official Guide, comprises a short description of the answer. Not all options will be right and the right answer will have a logic behind it. Such characteristics are exclusive to textbooks for preparation and one may not always find them in any other resources available for NMAT preparation. The official guide has past year papers along with the answers to the same. Candidates can get answers as well as solutions to the analytical questions.

Q:   Is NMAT mock test and NMAT exam identical?
A:

NMAT mock test and the actual exam are identical in terms of the exam structure and overall difficulty standards of the exam. The user interface of the NMAT mock test may vary across service providers. However, candidates practising using the official NMAT mock test will get taste of the actual exam user interface.

NMAT mock test released by GMAC is a simulation of the actual exam. Questions, pattern, syllabus, and test structure are similar to the actual exam. However, the score of the NMAT mock test will not affect the admission process at the NMAT participating colleges. Mock test only helps in practicing and revision of the questions.
