B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering - Batch of 2026

Students are friendly, no ragging. Good sports ground, clean hostel, and good food.
Placements: In my college, placements are good and MNCs are recruiting on campus like Bosche, Zoho, Wipro, etc. 100% of students got internships with top companies. Companies offer internships with top companies and they help to improve our skills for placements.
Infrastructure: Lab, classrooms, and hostel are very neat and good. Hostel is surrounded by trees and it gives nature and good oxygen on campus. There are 5 canteens available, food is also good. There are so many students participating sports and win the prices.
Faculty: Teachers are friendly with our students and we ask for any doubts they solve very friendly. Semester exams are difficult but our faculty members teach how to score good marks in exams. Passing mark is 35 out of 100, but my faculty teaches very well so we can easily score good marks.
Other: College provides scholarships for students and they conduct many events, symposiums, etc. College concentrates on extracurricular activities also.

Green life of PMIST students.
Placements: I am studying in B.Tech ECE. My passed-out seniors got placed in leading companies like Zoho, Wipro, TCS, etc. They get a salary package of 4 LPA to 24 LPA. My current seniors are doing internships in DRDO, ISRO, BHEL, SETS, etc. They are placed as a project associate, assistant engineer, and project manager.
Infrastructure: In our institute, the infrastructure is moderate. We have a lab for each subject. My institute is very eco-friendly. One big library is there. Classrooms also give a good environment to study. The hostel facility is there for both boys and girls. They allocate separate hostels for boys and girls. The canteen food is really good but the fee is a little expensive.
Faculty: Our department staff are very helpful to us. I don't know about other department staff. In the course, we need to update the syllabus about current technology and trends. Semester exams are a bit hard to study and cover the syllabus. At minimum, we need to get 40 marks to pass exams.

In my college, there is the best teaching style and staff.
Placements: In the 2015-2016 academic year, approximately 64% of students got placements. The average package offered in my course is Rs. 25,000 per month. Companies like Wipro, HCL, and Tech Mahindra come here. Students securing internships. Companies offering these opportunities are not readily available from the provided sources. 90% of students got internships from my course but not in top companies. Automation engineer, network engineer, and software developer roles are there.
Infrastructure: There is no Wi-Fi in PMIST for students. Labs are not properly working. The network in computers is our dependent. Medical facilities are available. Sports events are available but not for girls. The canteen is good and provides good food. The library has books.
Faculty: Teachers' teaching styles are professional. They clear all the doubts. They are qualified and knowledgeable. In exams, the faculty gives materials and PDFs which are useful for us. 90% of students pass in my class. The programme prepares graduates for diverse roles in sectors like manufacturing, research, agriculture, and mining.
Other: I chose this course because I am interested in electronics. In my course, some subjects have labs. They do not give a computer lab.

No good placements in the college.
Placements: Below 30% of students got placed in a company. According to the capability, the package varies. The highest package is 18 LPA. The lowest is 7 LPA. Zoho, Bosch, HCL, Infosys, and many others come here. More than 70% of students got internships at BHEL and Trichy. 95% of students got internships at Bosch. Communication engineer and project manager are roles.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure in the college are okay but very the worst facilities are there in the hostel. There is no Wi-Fi in the hostel. Sometimes, scarcity of water. The current is more. The food is a bit not good at night. The quality of the food is the worst. The medical and canteen are good.
Faculty: Our teachers are very helpful in our studies and make us do more projects. They are teaching about things that are related to industry and teach it in a practical manner. The semester is a little bit difficult but our teachers make it easier and make us learn fast. The passing percentage is 40%.
Other: First of all, I chose CSE because, at that time, I did not know anything about ECE. My mam told me about the value of ECE, I joined ECE. Without electronics, there is nothing in this world. Electronics is everywhere and everywhere. Need more detailed explanation about that topics. The university gives us more scholarships like first graduate and single parents scholarships and so on. There are no events and fests on our campus.

We are absolutely dissatisfied because of no more good placements in our college.
Placements: Below 20% of students got placed in our course. The highest is around Rs. 10,000 to 15,000 per month in our course. Zoho is the recruiting company for our course. Mostly all students got internships but not in top companies. Both hardware and software roles are offered in our course.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is not available for students in our department. Labs are average. We will not have all facilities in our lab. The library is good. The hostel food is not good. Good quality of food is not available in the hostel. The canteen is not clean. Medical facilities are good and available all the time.
Faculty: Some teachers are good and qualified but some are not teaching well. We can't understand easily. The course curriculum is not relevant and doesn't make students ready for industry because we will not have practical knowledge. There is no difficulty in semester exams. We will study well to get a good percentage. 40% is the pass percentage.
Other: This course has facilities to go both hardware and software sides. This is the best thing about this course. We need more practical knowledge. Scholarships are available in our college.

REVIEW ABOUT MY UNIVERSITY - PMIST.
Placements: I wish to improve our college campus placement section. Last month, Zoho visited our institute and selected 16 members from my senior batch. They offered jobs with a salary of 3 LPA as training IT engineers. Our university offers internships in many places such as RETECH SOLUTIONS LIMITED in Chennai, ARMADA INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION LIMITED in Thanjavur, and GR SOFTTECH in Trichy.
Infrastructure: Our institute offers Wi-Fi facilities and high-tech labs for students. The infrastructure in our university is also good and very eco-friendly. We have a hospital at the entrance of the university that works 24/7. The hostel is also well-maintained, and many students are staying there.
Faculty: There is no issue with teaching; the teachers are highly qualified. The faculty is very friendly with the students and encourages everyone to participate in extracurricular activities and work on projects. I wish to see some improvements in our course plan as we need to learn about current technologies. There is a 1.5-month gap between each examination in a semester. First, they conduct CIA 1; after the exam, they conduct CIA 2. After another 1.5 months, they conduct the semester examination. The marks from CIA 1 and CIA 2 are also considered for the semester result.
Other: I am an electronic and communication engineer, and I chose this course to do something better than others. I love studying this field, especially how it applies to real-life scenarios, such as using mobile phones, TVs, and electronic gadgets. They provide a scholarship of ₹20,000 under many categories, such as first graduate, single parent, sports quota, merit quota, and farmers. To qualify for this scholarship, students need to maintain 80% attendance and pass without any arrears.

Our college has a good environment to get a degree and learn many other things on your own.
Placements: Very few students got placed. Only a few companies visited the campus for placements. They hired very few students from the overall batch. There is a placement cell, and a student affairs section, everything. But placements were very low in number.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college was good, and it is now improved in a far better way. Facilities provided are enough, and they are having their electricity generators for the whole campus including campus using the biomass gasifier which was done by our college students and is in working condition.
Faculty: It is an excellent college in all ways, and the pass percentage was good in numbers. The course doesn't make students industry-ready, but you have to take responsibility from outside. The courses and the plans for the curriculum are up to the level of expectation.

I am satisfied with the course, faculty members and infrastructure of the college.
Placements: In our ECE batch, 100% of the students got placed through campus. The highest salary package offered was 4.2 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered was 3.8 LPA. Similarly, almost all students got internships in government and non-government sectors. We have our alumni in different fields like Bosh, ISRO, etc.
Infrastructure: Labs are good and accessible throughout college timing. There is a separate department library for ECE. The hostel is very clean, and we have 24X7 accessibility for sports and games. Hostel food is good. The infrastructure of our college is very good, and it is a pollution-free campus.
Faculty: Faculty members of our college are mostly Ph.D. holders, or some are pursuing their Ph.D. They have good knowledge of their fields. The curriculum is based on the industrial respective, and the basics of all topics related to the course are gained. We have lab in-charges available throughout college time.
