Yes, BCom (Hons) is one of the courses among the courses provided by the Department of Commerce at PMU. The duration of the course is three years. Admission to the UG-level course is based on merit in Class 12 and the availability of seats. At present, PMU has a total of 60 seats for BCom (Hons).  A candidate must have passed Class 12 with Mathematics/Business Mathematics/Accountancy as one of the subjects to be eligible for PMU BCom (Hons).

Yes, PMU offers placement assistance to BCom students. The university has a dedicated placement cell to provide placement opportunities to all its students. The PMU placement cell is called the Centre for Institute Industry Interaction (CII). Besides assisting in placements, CII trains the students in soft skills and aims at increasing their employability. In 2023, 678 students registered for the placement drive, out of which 581 were successfully placed. Further, 68 companies participated in the drive and distributed over 798 job offers across all the courses.

Periyar Maniammai University students are eligible to apply for scholarships under various categories. Some of the PMU scholarships are Merit Scholarship, Sports Scholarship, Farmers & Weavers Scholarship, Alumni Scholarship, etc. Students can apply for these scholarships while filling out the registration form for course admission. The scholarships are awarded to the students of UG courses like BSc, BCom and BA based on their performance in Class 12. The sanctioned scholarship will be given throughout the programme subject to the fulfilment of the condition that the student has passed all the semester exams and has a minimum of 80% attendance in the previous academic year.

The University has successfully concluded the 2023 placements. A total of 678 students registered for the 2023 drive, out of which 581 were successfully placed. Further,  68 companies participated and distributed over 798 job offers. The the highest package and average package offered during Periyar Maniammai University placements 2023 were INR 6 LPA and INR 2.50 LPA, respectively. TCS, DAIKIN, Hexaware Technologies, and many other leading companies participated in PMIST placements 2023.
