Admission to these courses is based on merit in Class 12 and the availability of seats for the chosen specialisation. The PMU BCom tuition fee ranges between INR 50,000 and INR 1.07 Lakh. PMU BCom fees comprise multiple components, such as tuition fee, security deposit, hostel fee, admin fee, etc. Some of these components are one-time chargeable. The eligibility criteria for BTech admission at PMU require candidates to have scored at least 45% in the three compulsory subjects in Class 12. These subjects are Physics, Mathematics, and any one of Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational Subject. Hence, scoring 50% in Class 12 does not make a candidate eligible to apply for PMU BTech admission. They must have studied the three compulsory subjects in Class 12 and scored more than the minimum required aggregate.

Periyar Maniammai University offers scholarships as financial assistance to meritorious students. Scholarship are disbursed to students as per the following criteria:

• Based on their marks scored in Class 12 and in JEE or equivalent or PMIST Entrance Test for BTech programmes (Up to INR 1.8 lakh).
• For the BCom, BA, BBA, B.Ed and BSc programmes, the scholarship will be based on Class 12 marks and the PMIST Entrance Test (Up to INR 15,000).
• The sanctioned scholarship will be offered to students throughout the programme subject to the conditions that they have a minimum of 80% attendance in the previous academic year.

Yes, PMIST (formerly knows as PMU) reserves 5% of the total BTech seats for candidates belonging to NRI category. Additionally, the university reserves 15% of the seats over and above the approved intake (Supernumerary Seats) are reserved for Foreign Nationals/Overseas Citizens of India (OCI)/Persons of Indian Origin (PIO)/Children of Indian Workers in Gulf Countries.
