Admission to these courses is based on merit in Class 12 and the availability of seats for the chosen specialisation. The PMU BCom tuition fee ranges between INR 50,000 and INR 1.07 Lakh. PMU BCom fees comprise multiple components, such as tuition fee, security deposit, hostel fee, admin fee, etc. Some of these components are one-time chargeable. The amount of security deposit is refundable after the completition of the course. Other fee components could be refundable, non-refundable, to be paid semester-wise or annually. The tuition fee for BCom at Periyar Maniammai University (PMU) ranges between INR 50,000 and INR 1.1 lakh. The one-time fee for the course is INR 2,000. Yes, BCom (Hons) is one of the courses among the courses provided by the Department of Commerce at PMU. The duration of the course is three years. Admission to the UG-level course is based on merit in Class 12 and the availability of seats. At present, PMU has a total of 60 seats for BCom (Hons).  A candidate must have passed Class 12 with Mathematics/Business Mathematics/Accountancy as one of the subjects to be eligible for PMU BCom (Hons).

Periyar Maniammai University students are eligible to apply for scholarships under various categories. Some of the PMU scholarships are Merit Scholarship, Sports Scholarship, Farmers & Weavers Scholarship, Alumni Scholarship, etc. Students can apply for these scholarships while filling out the registration form for course admission. The scholarships are awarded to the students of UG courses like BSc, BCom and BA based on their performance in Class 12. The sanctioned scholarship will be given throughout the programme subject to the fulfilment of the condition that the student has passed all the semester exams and has a minimum of 80% attendance in the previous academic year.

Periyar Maniammai University offers scholarships as financial assistance to meritorious students. Scholarship are disbursed to students as per the following criteria:

• Based on their marks scored in Class 12 and in JEE or equivalent or PMIST Entrance Test for BTech programmes (Up to INR 1.8 lakh).
• For the BCom, BA, BBA, B.Ed and BSc programmes, the scholarship will be based on Class 12 marks and the PMIST Entrance Test (Up to INR 15,000).
• The sanctioned scholarship will be offered to students throughout the programme subject to the conditions that they have a minimum of 80% attendance in the previous academic year.

The University has successfully concluded the 2023 placements. A total of 678 students registered for the 2023 drive, out of which 581 were successfully placed. Further,  68 companies participated and distributed over 798 job offers. The the highest package and average package offered during Periyar Maniammai University placements 2023 were INR 6 LPA and INR 2.50 LPA, respectively. TCS, DAIKIN, Hexaware Technologies, and many other leading companies participated in PMIST placements 2023.
