Campus Life over Pondicherry University.

Placements: So in B.Sc. (Hons) CS, placements are not as much for the students as it is a normal degree course. But internships are provided to most of the students. Internships from mainstream companies will be offered to many of the students according to their performances. Placements aren't available that much for this course as I guess so.

Infrastructure: Classrooms are quite good. Labs are air-conditioned and perfectly working. Wi-Fi isn't available everywhere. The common library and reading room have the best facilities over here. The hostel is good only, has a lift and all. Food quality is not at all good in the mess. The canteen's food is actually good. There are courts everywhere for different kinds of sports and games, and that is actually pretty good. There are tea-time canteens near the boys' and girls' hostels, and there is a gym also near that works pretty well. Medical facilities aren't top-notch, but they are adjustable.

Faculty: Teachers are helpful, and qualified. Most of them are guest faculty members. Teaching quality is quite good only. Semester exams aren't that tough, and the pass percentage is not that less. Teachers are knowledgeable, and some classes would be handled by scholars. The course curriculum is relevant.

Other: Actually, I chose this course because I wanted to study about computers and programming. The best things about the course is that one can go both ways in the IT sector and also prepare for other competitive exams with that degree. Campus life in Pondicherry University is the best. Extracurricular activities and sports have a good atmosphere over here. Events and fests also take place here most of the time. You'll get a good campus life over here with friends from different parts of India. Also, many foreign students are also studying over here.

Satisfied but not with placements .

Placements: I'm studying B.Sc. Hons in Computer Science, 2nd year, at present. So only 25 students are taken in for our course. I guess there is less scope in placements for computer science in our university because that's what my seniors said to me. They would recruit only 2 to 3 people approximately. Our university has good placements in MBA and tourism. Almost all the people I know in MBA and TOURISM got placed. So I would say those two courses have good scope. Apart from placements, Pondicherry University is a good place to meet people and interact with people from many places.

Infrastructure: Old hostel conditions are so bad, but hostels like Narmada and Kannagi are far better for girls. And the food facility is somewhat eatable on specific days, but most of the time food isn't good. It is somewhat good in the girls mess, but I have heard in the boys mess the food is horrible.

Faculty: Yes, teachers are good, but they won't teach much; we should learn everything by ourselves. Semester exams are difficult because we can't expect easy or direct questions from the faculty. We can dive into many programming languages on our own because we will be having time for ourselves mostly.
