B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering - Batch of 2026

Good placements, supportive faculty, and excellent infrastructure.
Placements: I am from the 2022-2026 batch of CSE at Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology. The placement opportunities are quite good compared to many private universities. The placement opportunities in our college training are available from the early semester. Around 85-90 percent of students from the CSE department got placed. The highest package offered in our course is around 42 LPA from Amazon.
Infrastructure: Sathyabama Institute provides good infrastructure and facilities for students. Especially for CSE. The classrooms are clean and equipped with projectors and smart teaching facilities that help students understand properly. The campus has high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified, supportive, and explain concepts clearly. The CSE curriculum is industry-related to modern subjects like AI, ML, this, and practical learning. Semester exams are moderately difficult. The pass percentage is around 85-90 percent in most semesters.

It is an average experience for me.
Placements: The placements were average in 2024. After COVID, the placement percentage dropped significantly. The 2023 batch got really good placements. The real struggle began for our batch. We faced a lot of struggles during placements. The number of companies visiting the campus dropped by about 60%.
Infrastructure: The hostel and campus infrastructure were very good. The classrooms, library, and labs were well developed and well integrated. The food was also good and was served free of cost to both hostellers and non-hostellers. Even bus services were provided free of cost.
Faculty: The curriculum was satisfactory for some and disappointing for others. It was a hit or miss for my course. It mainly depended on teachers. Some were outstanding, others struggled to teach the subjects.
Other: It was a great experience with many unforgettable moments.

B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering - Batch of 2027

Satisfied with average placement and with good lab facilities.
Placements: There are many internship opportunities from the 2nd year for students with 8 or 8.5 CGPA. The top recruiters are Amazon, OFSS, Oracle, Tech Mahindra, TCS, Wipro, etc. Mostly the placement is more concentrated on software-oriented work roles. Overall the placement percentage is around 90-93 per cent. There are a few start-up companies that also come for placement and as well as for an internship. The top role offered is a Software Developer Engineer.
Infrastructure: There are all kinds of labs and for AI & Gaming Technology computers are built with high-end specifications in advance block. The Wi-Fi is average in open space but for placement and for technical events like hackathons, the Wi-Fi is pretty good. The hostel facility is average and it costs around Rs. 1,00,000- Rs. 1,30,000 for non-AC and for AC it costs Rs. 2,00,000. Overall the mess food is average and the menu has 5 days of non-vegetarian and 2 days of vegetarian food options.
Faculty: The curriculum and the registration get updated once every four years. The recent update has set one open-book exam paper in every semester. Most of the teachers are PhD qualified and a few are with Masters. The semester exams are pretty moderate and we do have some papers as problem-based learning where we do projects in that particular subject under a team of 5 students. The pass percentage is somewhere around 85-90 percent.

The college is totally worth the money and time in my opinion.
Placements: I am pursuing the Electronics and Communication batch (2023-2027). Three placement opportunities are very good for the course especially for students who are strong in their technical and communication skills. SDE is the top role offered in my college as a graduate.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is quite good. High-speed Wi-Fi is available in all the labs and the library. The food in the Sathyamaba canteen is good but the food in the mess is somewhat low quality and the mess has low maintenance.
Faculty: The faculty in our department is very helpful for the students in both academic and project work. Most faculty are well-qualified and knowledgeable and also have good teaching experience. The teaching quality is very good especially in the core subjects. The faculty members are very helpful to the students.

Beautiful college life.
Placements: 80% of students are placed. Honda R&D, NxtWave, Infosys, and TVS are among the top recruiters. More than 600+ students are recruited overall. The highest package is 12 LPA, and the lowest is 3.5 LPA. However, students usually practice regularly for placements. Many students are also placed in internships.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good with a positive student environment and friendly staff. University provides good food facilities in the canteen. Transport facilities are good with polite drivers. The hostel infrastructure is clean and hygienic. Labs are equipped with the latest equipment.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful. The curriculum is highly relevant to the course, helping students develop industry skills. The semester exams are quite difficult, with creative questions based on class topics. However, this helps in learning concepts in a better way.
Other: I chose this course because I am not interested in IT jobs and prefer core engineering. Events and fests are among the best compared to other universities.

Review from 2023–2026.
Placements: In my department, almost 85% of students are placed. The average package offered is 6 LPA. The top recruitment company in my department is Stryker, which is a core biomedical instrumentation company. My department has more than 250 students enrolled in this course.
Infrastructure: In our college, there is a Wi-Fi zone for academic work, and libraries are also equipped with Wi-Fi. Classrooms have smart boards as well as traditional blackboards for better teaching. The food provided in the mess and canteen is of good quality. They encourage students not to waste food.
Faculty: Our department teachers support us in every stage of our career, whether it is placements, entrepreneurship, or higher studies. The department includes core biomedical engineering subjects, and we also follow problem-based learning, which makes us industry-ready. The semester exams are of average difficulty. The pass percentage is about 92%.
Other: I always preferred the medical field and chose Biomedical Engineering. We study not only medical subjects but also ECE and Computer Science, which broadens our career scope. I do not think any further improvements are required in our department. Events are conducted frequently, including both technical and non-technical activities. We also have a scholarship scheme. Top rankers in the department receive 5%, 10%, and 15% of their tuition fees as a return.
