Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University is a public university. The university is located in Tirupati. It was established in 2005 by the Andhra Pradesh Government. SVVU is UGC-recognised. The University has five Veterinary Colleges, one College of Fishery Sciences, and one Dairy Technology College. It also has 14 research stations for Livestock, five research stations for Fisheries, 10 Polytechnics for Animal Husbandry and one Fisheries Polytechnic Institution. The University offers UG & PG degree programmes in the three faculties while PhD programme is offered only in Veterinary Sciences.

There are two ways to secure admission at SVVU Tirupati for BVSc course. Those who fulfil the preset eligibility criteria in terms of educational qualification and age can get admission at the university in one of the following two ways:
- 85% of the total seats are filled under state quota through the combined counselling conducted by ANGRAU based on the Andhra Pradesh EAMCET merit. Within the state quota, there is a Farmers' quota wherein 25% of area-wise seats are reserved for candidates from farmers' families with 3 acres of agricultural land. Such candidates must have studied in a rural area for a minimum period of four years
- 15% of the total seats are filled by the Veterinary Council of India, New Delhi through a common entrance examination
The SVVU Tirupati After 10th Diploma fee depends on the choice of specialisations. The tuition fee for the Diploma in Fisheries is INR 63,000 for the entire course duration. As of now, the fee details for Diploma in Animal Husbandry are not available. It must be noted that the mentioned fee is sourced from the official website of the university/sanctioning body. SVVU Tirupati After 10th Diploma application process is incomplete without submitting the prescribed fees. The fee for candidates belonging to the General and the Backward Caste Category is INR 880.
