It is an average college.

Placements: There are more than 600 students in our course so there will be more competition for placements. Our college does not provide placements in top companies. Talented students can get placed in our college.

Infrastructure: Our college provides good facilities for students. The computer lab is good. Our college has high-spec computers for programming. Our campus is Wi-Fi enabled. Our campus is top-notch. Mobile phones are not allowed in classrooms. The food served in the hostel is below average. Many students prefer to stay in PGs or rental rooms. Sports and games are good.

Faculty: Our teachers are very good. They always clear our doubts. They won't scold us. They provide us with assignments and notes. The course curriculum does not make students industry-ready. Semester exams are easy and sometimes difficult. Teachers help us during exams.

Other: I opted for this course because the future is all about computers. Our course is futuristic but is a little bit difficult for cloud computing. Our college organises many events and fests.

Review of Srinivas University, Mangalore.

Placements: The university had an overall rating of 3.9/5 with placements rated 3.6/5. In my batch 40–60 percent of students got placed mostly by local recruiters. Internships were minimal often offering paid training rather than genuine job offers. Several students reported that only top-performing students in select courses received decent placements, including me.

Infrastructure: Facilities for BCA students included fully furnished classrooms equipped with charging sockets, projectors, and smart monitors. The computer labs were large with modern systems. Wi-Fi was available only in labs. Hostels were separate for girls and boys and were located near the campus. Rooms were comfortable with basic furnishings like study tables, fans, and attached bathrooms in some blocks. Hostel fees for the boys' hostel were Rs. 33,000 per year, and for the girls' hostel, Rs. 31,000 per year. The mess charge was Rs. 3,000 per month. Security, Wi-Fi, laundry facilities, and indoor games were also available.

Faculty: Faculty of our department was generally perceived as friendly and qualified. The instructors were knowledgeable. Some faculty members were supportive, while others were difficult to access, and administrative communication was often described as poor. The BCA course was three years long with six semesters. It includes specialisations such as software development and web design, AI and robotics, and cloud computing and cybersecurity. The exam structure included internal assessments each semester, along with end-of-semester external exams, assignments, practical labs, and minor or major projects. The pass percentage was half of the total marks.

Other: I chose the BCA course at Srinivas University because it focused on emerging technologies like AI, cloud computing, and web development. The best part of the course was the practical lab sessions and specialized streams that aligned with current IT industry trends. The BCA course at Srinivas University covered key subjects like programming, AI, and cloud computing. I wished there had been more industry-level projects and internship opportunities, as the practical exposure was limited, and the placement support could have been stronger for core IT roles. Srinivas University had a moderate campus environment with basic facilities. The connectivity to the city was good due to its central location. The campus crowd was limited and not very dynamic.
