Savitribai Phule Pune University  (also known as UNIPUNE, Pune University and SPPU), is a collegiate public state university. The University is located at Pune, was established in 1949 through Poona University Act and is one of the premier universities in India. Recognised by UGC, it is popularly known as the 'Oxford of the East'. The University is accredited ‘A’ grade by NAAC. Yes, Savitribai Phule Pune University has hostel facilities available for boys and girls. In total, SPPU has 13 hostels, with seven boys' and six girls' hostels accommodating over 1,221 students. Additionally, the campus offers a comfortable and well-furnished guest house with more than 34 rooms and dining facilities. The Set Bhavan Guest House features 16 single rooms and 16 double rooms, each with an attached kitchen. Furthermore, the university provides residential facilities for about 115 teaching faculty and approximately 294 non-teaching staff members on campus. 

SPPU admission process has multiple steps which is inclusive of application, appearance in OEE exam (for OEE-accepting courses, such as MA, MSc and MTech, among others) followed by the release of merit list and final admission. A detailed description of all the steps is as follows- 

Step 1: Candidates seeking admission to Pune University OEE can apply online on the official website and submit their application forms. There is no requirement to submit the required documents or application form offline.

Step 2: Candidates, after application, must appear for the course-specific OEE or other entrance exams conducted by the university or Maharashtra state.  

Step 3: After appearing for the exam, students are required to wait for the merit lists released on the official website of the university.

 Step 4: After the release of the merit list, students are required to fill in the admission form and upload the necessary documents in it. After all the documents are verified by the relevant department, an admission fee challan is generated and the fee must be paid followed by that before the last date.

Savitribai Phule offers multiple scholarships for every category students. To be eligibilbe for the scholarships candidates have to qualify certain criteia:

• For engineering graduates who have confirmed admission to a Master's Degree in Engineering and Technology at a foreign accredited university (D.K. Bhave Scholarship).
• Girls belonging from minority communities in Maharashtra students in grades 5–10 from (Savitribai Phule Scholarship).
• For open category students with a family income less than 2 Lacs (EBC scholarship).
• For single girl children pursuing research work leading to a Ph.D. degree in Social Sciences (Savitribai Jyotirao Phule Fellowship for Single Girl Child).
