UniPune admission to a majority of PG and UG courses is based on the Online Entrance Exam (OEE) conducted by the University. The university offers MCA, MMM, Advanced Diploma, MPH, E-MBA, LLM and M.Lib.I.Sc, among others. Admission to a few courses is completely based on merit in the previous qualifying exam. Savitribai Phule Pune University  (also known as UNIPUNE, Pune University and SPPU), is a collegiate public state university. The University is located at Pune, was established in 1949 through Poona University Act and is one of the premier universities in India. Recognised by UGC, it is popularly known as the 'Oxford of the East'. The University is accredited ‘A’ grade by NAAC. UniPune lowest package placement data is not released. However, according to Savitribai Phule Pune University (PUMBA) placement report 2024, the highest and average package offered during UniPune MBA placements over the past three years are presented below:

UniPune is not very difficult to get admission. Students should qualify the minimum eligibility criteria. Pune University offers admission basis merit and entrance wherein students must secure minimum marks in Class 12 or graduation, depending on the level of course opted. Students should also have valid scores in accepted entrance exams such as ATMA, OEE, GATE, UGC NET or SLET.

As per the information available on the web, Pune University exams are not that easy since the competition is high. However, consistent efforts and study help students to pass the exam. For the OBC HS category, the last round cutoff ranged from 0.32 to 330 according to the last round closing percentiles. According to the last round, the hardest college under the Pune University for admission to the MTech/ ME programme based on the MHTCET M.Tech cutoff 2025 percentiles was Pune Institute of Computer Technology, Society for Computer Technology and Research.
