UniPune MA Eligibility & Highlights 2025

Savitribai Phule Pune University (UniPune) offers MA programmes to the students at PG level in the field of Arts. The majority of MA courses are available on the campus of UniPune while a few chunks of MA specialisations are also offered by various affiliated colleges and recognised institutes under UniPune. All these affiliated and recognised institutes are located in three districts, namely Pune, Ahmednagar and Nashik. Pune University MA admission is subject to a valid score in Online Entrance Exam (OEE) conducted by the University. Candidates seeking enrolment via Pune University OEE can apply online on the official website of Campus Common Entrance Platform (CCEP). There is no requirement to submit the required documents or application form offline.

Pune University MA admission is both merit and entrance-based. While admission to a majority of these specialisations is OEE based, there are a few courses, such as Job Oriented Functional Hindi, Lalit Kala, among others, admission to which is completely merit-based.

Q: Which entrance exam is accepted by UniPune?

UniPune admission to a majority of PG and UG courses is based on the Online Entrance Exam (OEE) conducted by the University. The university offers MCA, MMM, Advanced Diploma, MPH, E-MBA, LLM and M.Lib.I.Sc, among others. Admission to a few courses is completely based on merit in the previous qualifying exam. The university also accepts MAH CET, MAH MCA MET, CMAT/ CAT/ ATMA and other exams for admission to a number of courses offered at its campus or its affiliated colleges.

Candidates seeking admission to MA are required to have completed their relevant UG degree. For further selection, candidates have to appear for OEE conducted by UniPune for final selection. The majority of MA courses are available on the campus of UniPune while a few chunks of MA specialisations are also offered by various affiliated colleges and recognised institutes under UniPune. After appearing for the exam, students are required to wait for the merit lists released on the official website of the university. After the release of the merit list, students are required to fill in the admission form and upload the necessary documents in it. ISC among others, where the admission process is completely based on merit in the previous qualifying exam (Class 12 for UG admission and UG degree for PG admission). Candidates who’re in the final year of their qualifying exam can appear for OEE conducted by SPPU. However, their admission is subject to passing the qualifying exam. For admission to courses offered by the affiliated/ unaided colleges under SPPU, candidates are required to visit/ contact the shortlisted institute. The application fee for OEE is INR 600 for a single course (for General category students) and INR 400 (for reserved category candidates). Best College ever I have seen.

Placements: 82% students get placed every year from our college. The maximum salary offered by companies in India is 13LPA, while the minimum salary offered is 1 to 2 LPA. The recruitment agencies in our college are ICMR, Apollo Hospital, and Tech Mahindra etc. The top jobs are Clinical Psychologist, Organizational Psychologist, etc. 75% students got their internships.

Infrastructure: Our college offers state of the art facilities, including a campus with Wi-Fi, modern classrooms, well equipped labs, and a complete library. The hotel facilities are very comfortable with clean rooms, healthy food in the mess and restaurant, and medical treatment available. Many sports and hobbies promote a balanced life.

Faculty: Teachers are the most helpful and supportive students a student can have, and they do all the courses required by the job. One notable positive is that the faculty members provide real world, hands on experience to clarify all the concepts and give us real life experience. Semester exams are not easy, and the pass rate is 30%.

My honest review of my college.

Placements: Many students from our college are working with an MNC company on a great pay scale. The placement was good, as they said to us, they delivered Companies International. The placement cell has provided a great opportunity for college students. Most of the students got selected through this. The average package of last year was 7-9 LPA.

Infrastructure: On our campus, the hostels and mess food are awesome. Hostels had limited rooms, and the food was very Lovely. The place was neat and clean. I chose this course because of the faculty. They are highly qualified and have great research work credentials. The faculty is optimal for the number of students who were there for the psychology course (master's). You have assignments and unit tests once a semester, and also a semester-end examination.

Faculty: It was a very challenging course with a great commerce course, and I loved studying this course throughout my grades. The whole faculty supported us. Just because of this, I was able to crack the course. My college has NAC A Grade with one of the best Science as well as Commerce faculty in Pune. Many faculty members have gold medalists in different Subjects. We are proud to be a part of that college where such great faculty appear.

Placements: From my college, lots of companies have selected students in many companies like Infosys, Cognizant, and other companies also come and take interviews. Many students have a good opportunity from this type of placement, and they will offer a good package like 3 LPA for fresher student which is enough salary to fulfill their needs. Many marketing companies come for interviews, and many companies need internship students. But I have applied to so many companies but I have not get perfect job which I want to do currently.

Infrastructure: Hostel facilities are not available in my college because my college is in prime location so they do not have sufficient space for hostel and mess. Food is also not available. But there are 2 canteens available in my college for boys and girls, and its too tasty. Different subjects in combined in the four semesters of two-year course. There are core subjects in social work discipline like social case work, social group work, community work, social welfare administration, social action, and social research paper.

Faculty: I have done M.A. this year and due to my colleagues and friends, I have assessed the course for the curriculum. In my college, there are many faculty members. But many of my friends are going into the commerce stream so I have selected the same. During exam time, it is very hard to spend a single day because the exam structure and sitting arrangement change for every exam. In one room, there are 3 teachers who will be assigned to take care, and it is too dangerous to speak in exam hall.

Honest review of my college.

Placements: This was a government college that only gave a degree. There was no placement and no campus drive. This college only helped you to graduate or post-graduate that degree could help in the future. This college did not give any internships, no campus drive, no placement so forget these things. Around 25 students out of 140 got placed already. Popular companies like Symantec, Zensar, Persistent, Tata Consultancy Services, and Cumming India visited our college. Placement was not so good. As per my knowledge, I don't know about the companies.

Infrastructure: Hostels were average. All facilities were not provided as per the fees taken. But there were NRI hostels for boys and girls, except for normal hostels. It provided good facilities but fee was high. Mess was good and clean and served tasty veg food.

Faculty: Faculty members were huge plus point of the institute. Some of the professors really knew the subject matter well and guided us really well. The curriculum was at some point almost the same as that of other AICTE colleges and just reached the level of being just fine. Few faculty members had wonderful experience and passion to teach. Most of them may had retired from college as it was 14 years after passing the course. This college provided courses like B.A., M.A., B.Com, and M.Com. There was semester and yearly exam type for bachelors degree. There was yearly type exam, and for master's degree there was semester type exam. This course curriculum was not that heavy but, it's quite demanding. Here, in DU, exams were not a big deal because the faculty members were great. Additionally, students know beforehand what was required of them. Exam structure was semester-wise, so it was not hectic.

Best Pysch college in Northern and Central India.

Placements: So, talking about placement, it's only for industrial and organizational psychology students and not for counseling and clinical students. The placement usually goes to 4 to 5 Lacs LPA on average and a maximum of 8 to 9 LPA. But usually, all the IO students get placed.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the university and department is very good. Facilities are top-rated. For the hostel, you just have to pay a minimum fee of 6k and you are done. The departments are also huge and have at least 2 labs and other facilities. Yes, Wi-Fi, library, and lecture halls — everything is there.

Faculty: The faculty is also good. They are knowledgeable and helpful people. They really help students to get placed. As the institute is autonomous, there is no tension of getting passed, as they teach really well and you will easily crack all the exams. So it helps.

Other: The course is really helpful as it's a very practical field and you will get jobs in this field. The problem is, as this is an upcoming field, you have to struggle a bit to get placed or to get a good job in this era, but with time, you will usually do it. The campus life is really nice. We also have all sorts of events going on in the department, so it's a lot of fun being in the SPPU.

About the Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce

Placements: Genuinely, we need to accept the fact that an M.A. in English does not have any good placements except becoming an English tutor. The college does not provide any internships; we have to approach some private coaching centers, which is the easiest way to find an internship. From a placement point of view, some students do a 6-month IT course and get jobs in IT companies, but most of us become teachers, government servants, or are still unemployed. If the coaching center is good, it offers a salary of up to ₹30,000 per month. However, most of the time, the college does not help you find a job. The fact is there are not enough jobs in the industry for our field.

Infrastructure: The college doesn't have a big campus; it is surrounded by 3 large buildings and a ramp area. There is no playground in the college, but the facilities are commendable. Wi-Fi service is available everywhere on the campus. Toilets and the college surroundings are always clean. The college library has many books, novels, newspapers, and study materials. We can take any book by just showing an ID card. The college hostel is good but not affordable for everyone. However, facilities like room space and hygienic food are well-maintained. The canteen is good and has beverages and breakfast food.

Faculty: I took admission here because the college holds a reputation, but sadly the faculty is disappointing. Rather than focusing on teaching, others are busy with fests and events. They do not clear our doubts, and no study material is provided for any course. Considering the college ranking, it is not good. The course is good in covering almost all aspects of English, from history to the modern era. The course focuses on literary theories and criticism like Aristotle, Roland Barthes, and so on. During the final exam, we need to write a dissertation on a preferred topic in brief.
