One of the best overall colleges in the mountains.
Placements: The general number of individual placements is high, but the college does not provide direct placement facilities. Although students have a good chance of being selected by multiple companies, the college itself is not directly involved in organizing placements.
Infrastructure: There is a lack of lab infrastructure in the Geography department. Although it is one of the best departments in the college. Other science-related departments have better labs and infrastructure. The hostel facilities for girls are better since there are no hostels for boys. But the girls' hostels are better and provide decent food and structure.
Faculty: The teaching quality is very good. Professors are helpful as well as well-qualified in their respective departments. The college does make students industry-ready by encouraging the teaching of extra subjects that prepare students to face the real world. Exams depend on the student. If a student attends classes regularly and is attentive in lectures, he or she will pass easily.
Other: I chose geography because it is one of the best subjects to study at this college. The geography department here is one of the best in North Bengal.

All about my experience in Mathabhanga College.
Placements: If a student get 50% number in HS, they can get a seat in my college. Now, in new semester system, if a student can get 45% in their HS they can get seat in my college through online. There is no placement system in this college, but if a student scored good results then they can get a seat in various universities, even in JNU.
Infrastructure: There is Wi-Fi available in our campus, labs for scientific research, a library where there are so many books available, and a digital classroom. Although I don't stay in hostel, there are 2 hostels in this college, one for boys and one for girls.
Faculty: The professors are very qualified and helpful, they always encourage us. They teach us very kindly. If anyone is having problems understanding any of lessons, they repeat the lessons. Exams are not so difficult for those students who read regularly, but it's difficult for those who don't read. Pass percentage of the exam is 40%. The professor in my department is very friendly. They behave like friends.
Other: I completed my graduation in English. From childhood to young age, I have always liked the subject of learning new languages, new cultures and various things. In this course, the best thing is that I learnt about various cultures, the history of the English language, etc. In our college, there are Various scholarships available like SVMCM, Kannayashree, SC /ST, etc.

Decent placements and affordable fees.
Placements: NBU placement cell facilitates jobs in companies like TCS, Cognizant, and HDFC Bank, with a 40-60% placement rate. Placement support is stronger for professional courses like MBA AND BCA but limited for traditional courses like B.Sc. WITH some BCA roles reaching INR 12 LPA.
Infrastructure: NBU 330 ACRES campus features modern classrooms, a well stocked library with 2,23,208 books, and advanced labs for Science and technology. Facilities include wi-fi, a computer center, sports complexes, and auditoriums, though some areas need better maintenance.
Faculty: Faculty are qualified, approachable, and use interactive methods like smart boards and research oriented teaching. They guide students in academics and research, but some departments lack industry exposure or consistent engagement. Support for practical training and projects is strong.
Other: The events were very good.

An average college for studies, satisfied with the faculty and placements.
Placements: Percentage of students placed in my course is approximately 45%. The highest package is ₹15k per month, the average ₹9k per month, and the lowest ₹5k per month. Top recruiters included Indian Bank. Around 60% of students got internships. Companies that offered internships include ICICI Bank, Punjab National Bank, SBI, and Shaping Ideas.
Infrastructure: Facilities in the department are very good. The classrooms are well-organized and equipped with a smart board, speakers, microphones, and Wi-Fi. The library is open to all departments and contains all the necessary books. Hostel facilities are not available, and the food in the canteen is average.
Faculty: Teachers were helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality was good, with interactive sessions and practical life examples. The curriculum is relevant and prepares students to be industry-ready. The difficulty level of the semester exams is average, with an 80–85% pass percentage.
Other: I chose this course because I wanted to grow my family business, and this course would teach me how to improve it. The best part of my course was marketing. I wish the accounts part of the course could be improved. Overall, everything was very good.

Affordable education with supportive faculty, needs more practical exposure and events.
Placements: Around 70?80% students were placed. The highest package offered was ?12 LPA, the lowest ?2.5 LPA, and average around ?4?5 LPA. Top recruiters included TCS, Wipro, Infosys, ICICI, and Capgemini. Around 60?70% got internships from platform like Internshala, BSNL, and EdTech firms. Top roles included software developed, data analyst, sales executive, HR trainee, and many students also prepared for government exams. Overall, placement was good for a government college.
Infrastructure: Islampur College offers decent infrastructure with Wi-Fi-enabled classrooms, a well-stocked library, and basic computer labs for practical sessions. Hostel facilities are limited, however, private hostels are nearby. The canteen serves simple food, medical aid is basic, and students enjoy sports like football and cricket.
Faculty: Teachers at Islampur College are helpful, qualified, and have good subject knowledge. Teaching quality is decent, with a focus on theory. The curriculum is mostly relevant but lacks strong industry exposure. Semester exams are moderate in difficulty, and the pass percentage is around 80-85% on average.
Other: I chose this course due to my strong interest in the subject and its career scope. The best part is the supportive faculty and affordable education. However, more practical exposure and industry tie-ups would improve it. The campus crowd is friendly, events are few but enjoyable, and connectivity is good. Scholarships are available, and students participate in cultural and sports activities actively. The surroundings are peaceful, creating a good learning environment.

B.Sc. (Hons.) in Physics - Batch of 2025
Offered by Ananda Chandra College
3.6
3Placements2Infrastructure4Faculty5Crowd & Campus Life4Value for Money
It is an average college with room for improvement.
Placements: As a student of Ananda Chandra College, I can confidently say that the college offers a balanced environment for academic development of students. Many seminars and workshops are held on the college campus with the help of faculty members. The placement cell is active and supportive with soft skill development programs. Though the top-tier companies may not visit every year, a decent number of companies come to provide internships, especially from the marketing and finance sections. The average package offered ranges from 3.5-5 LPA.
Infrastructure: The college offers well-maintained and clean infrastructure, making it a good environment for personal and academic development. Classrooms have seating and a blackboard, but not all classes have projectors or Wi-Fi for smart classes. Laboratories are equipped with basic technologies but lack modern equipment. Sports ground and the indoor stadium should go under maintenance. The hostel facilities are also average. One room is shared by 3 students, but the main problem in the hostel is that it has a common bathroom for all students, which can be improved. There is no Wi-Fi facility in the hostel.
Faculty: Faculty members of this college are genuinely passionate and well qualified in their respective fields. They go away on their way to help students in their academic and personal growth. The course curriculum is moderate and lacks focus on industry exposure. However, it covers all concepts and includes elective subjects in the lower semesters. Examinations are fairly good. Recently, the examination board was changed, and it is quite difficult, but it is more helpful for students. Internal and practical examinations are also conducted in the respective laboratories. The new examination board comes with application-based questions rather than theoretical.
Other: I chose the course because the faculty members here are quite good, and many workshops and seminars are held on the college campus through our department. There are also laboratory facilities with good equipment, but they require new and modern equipment for the upcoming students. Very big events are organised by our college. In fact, in our district, our college organises the biggest event. The campus crowd is also very good. Students are always encouraged to join many extracurricular activities in our college. Sports facilities are fairly decent here.
