Honest review of the University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya.

Placements: Every year many esteemed companies visit this campus for recruitment. The placement and training cell of this college is very active and it invites new companies every year. The highest package of last year was 6 LPA and the average package was 4 LPA. Students are eligible for campus placement from the 3rd semester. Companies like ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, SBI Bank, Vantage Circle, Bandhan Bank, etc., visit our university for campus recruitment. Above 95% of students get placed every year in this course. My plan is to get placed in a good company with a good package.

Infrastructure: The hostel facility of the college would make us feel as if we are at home and that's why I call it a home, away from home. It is comfortable, clean, and affordable. It costs Rs. 6,840 for a student to avail the hostel facility for a year.

Faculty: Faculty members of this college are very genuine and friendly. They teach us in a very decent and interactive way. They are very hardworking and hold the experience of several years of teaching. They are very inspiring. The course curriculum makes us well-prepared for the real world applications as the curriculum has various real-world application-based workshops, internships, etc. The course is good and teachers are very active in teaching. We are provided with enough industrial exposure. All the faculty members are very helpful, but I do not have any favorite faculty. They are very much appreciated and very good at it.

Other: I chose this course because it is a professional course which provides better job opportunities.

The environment is pollution-free and is in the midst of the nature of Meghalaya.

Placements: The University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya organized a mega job fair every year. More than 100 companies came to the college to hire better students based on their skills and knowledge. Every year, more than 50 students got high packages ranging from 8-10 LPA. Our college provided many internships. More than 60 tech companies visited the college every year, like Amazon, Tech Mahindra, IBM, etc. A majority of companies provide paid internships, but some provided unpaid internships.

Faculty: All faculty members of University of Science and Technology were very good in their respective fields. All faculty members had strong subject knowledge and teaching experience. Faculty members encouraged students to think critically and creatively. All faculty members were supportive in both academic and career development.

Other: USTM, along with RIST, held a multitude of fests and competitions for students. They organized college fests, a Northeast students' fest, and various concerts in the auditorium, which was the biggest in the Northeast. Students who enrolled in the BA course found time to be a scarce commodity, and as such, chances of attending these functions were not high.

The ratio of girls in the university is more compared to boys.

Placements: After 1st semester students with minimum eligibility can sit in the placement cell. More than 200 companies visit our campus. The highest package offered till now is 88.5 LPA and the average package is 8.30 LPA. The campus placements are 90% approximately. Roles and projects may vary from company to company like full sack developer and many more roles are offered here.

Faculty: The faculty-to-student relationships are quite great. Some faculty members are a little bit annoying, and all of them are approachable at any time as Dr. Indrajeet, etc. They make the course more interactive and make it boring to interesting. Some faculty members are very biased as they approach rich students. Exams are moderate, and all exams contain a significant part of our CGPA calculation.

Other: Different types of events and college fests are conducted by the university. Annual college fests are also conducted by the university every year and other different types of events provide different types of opportunities for the students.

The faculty members are helpful and friendly. The atmosphere is quite nice for study.

Placements: 4th year students are eligible for campus placements. Many companies that approached our college for placements are Maa Raja, TVS, TCL, and Beautiful. More than 10,000 offers are made. More than 40% of students get placed on campus placements. Amaraja Solutions, TCL, and Karbon offer internships for students at our college. The average stipend is Rs. 15,000 per month. Projects like automation in electronic devices are conducted by me in college and got good recognition for it.

Infrastructure: The campus is clean and beautiful. It is a huge one. There are a large number of blocks for the various departments on the campus. There is a huge auditorium, a central library, a gymnasium and many more. My hostel is outside the campus. Some hostels are available inside campus too. The hostel is average. Meal quality is average. Sometimes there is a problem with a water facility. The electricity facility is fine. Overall it is average.

Faculty: The faculty-to-student ratio is 7:29. Faculty are friendly and good with students. Sai sir is my favourite faculty in this college. His way of teaching is very good. I don't like lab assistants because they are very strict. Category. I wrote an entrance exam for admission and I got a seat in this college.

I like the functional programs that are held every year in our university.

Placements: There are a lot of companies. The highest salary package is offered by Wipro and Infosys. Students get internships in Wipro and Infosys. Our college organizes sightseeing or visiting factories or companies for study purposes. Our college placements start at the end of the first year. It is based on students' knowledge, performance, and grades. Our college provides us with the opportunity to take interviews, and if we pass the interview, we get the job.

Infrastructure: Many cultural organisations take place in USTM such as Kairos. It is held this year. Besides, they perform DJ night every year sponsored by Red Bull. There is gymnastics where everyone is allowed to do their workouts. Students can have their lunch in the amenity center inside the campus.

Faculty: The security guard and some of the faculty members are rude. They don't look after students that much they do their things. Our course is for 4 years. We have to score 75% of marks in the third year with 75% marks.

Teachers are friendly and helpful. They try their level best to make students understand the topics.

Placements: Perfect semester students become eligible for campus placements. Companies like Microsoft, Google, etc., visit our college for placements. The salary packages are offered in crores from the college. The percentage of students who get placements is more than 50%. My plan after my degree is to get a good placement.

Infrastructure: Books are well-maintained, and as a reader, I have not completed going around the library which is big. It has a smart classroom with modern technology and access provided. We shifted to another room for another batch to adjust. Lots of clubs are here which I joined personally is the cultural forum.

Faculty: The college provides the best faculty members. They are too experienced. They teach amazingly and uniquely, which makes students understand a topic more easily. They conduct exams every week.

Other: Till now I had fun in USTM a lot. Many festivals, celebrations, and programs are always held here. It conducts getting 200 ranks in NIRF, convocation, cultural programs, getting 150 seats of MBBS Kairos 2024, Independence Day and other National days, and even visitation from Lou Majaw and Jubeen Garden, and Isaac Suborno. Actually, I got 2nd seat in Telangana EAMCET, so I chose this college. It is one of the top 10 colleges in Telangana. I also took opinions from a few people, and they suggest that this college has the best infrastructure among all the colleges.
