Assam University accepts admission in MCom through CUET-PG, for which the candidate should have passed BCom with a minimum of 50% aggregate. Therefore, candidates willing to take admission in MCom at Assam University must take the CUET-PG exam and must prepare well to achieve a good rank because only those applicants whose rank is above the closing rank specified in the merit list released by Assam University will be considered for the counselling round followed by the document verification and fees payment.

Also, 50% of the MCom course seats are reserved for Assam University internal students, i.e., those who have passed the qualifying examination from Assam University affiliated college.

Assam University offers a wide range of UG, PG, certificate, and doctoral courses under various specialisations, and it accepts CUET scorecards/ranks mainly for its UG courses.

Candidates willing to apply to UG courses of Assam University through CUET should have a minimum aggregate of 55%-60%. These marks are the minimum qualifying criteria for candidates to be considered for the CUET entrance exam through which students will become eligible for admission to Assam University.

Assam University can be considered competitive as admission is based on the entrance exam scores. Courses such as BTech in Computer Science and Engineering are hard to get due to the high cutoff in JEE Main. For other courses, the university accepts the CUET UG exam. 50% of BTech seats are reserved for the permanent residents of Assam, and the remaining 50% are for All India candidates. Computer Science Engineering at Assam University is one of the most opted domains by students. However, the placement records of BTech in Assam University are less compared to other state and central universities.

But having said that, Assam University BTech course and especially the CSE discipline is far better than other disciplines provided under the BTech course through Assam University.

Candidates willing to take admission in BTech in Computer Science Engineering (CSE) must take the JEE-Main exam. They should secure a good rank to become eligible for the counselling process at Assam University.
