Purvanchal University Combined Admission Test (PUCAT) is conducted by Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University in order to offer students admission in various postgraduate courses. The exam is conducted annually and it is through qualifying PUCAT, that candidates are granted admission to the varsity. Through PUCAT, candidates can get admission in MBA, MA and MSc courses. The mode of the exam is offline and the medium of the entrance exam is English.

VBSPU Jaunpur admissions are primarily entrance-based. While admission to some of the courses is based on the university-conducted entrance exam, namely the VBSPU Jaunpur Combined Admission Test PUCAT admission to the remaining courses is conducted through national-level entrance exams, including JEE Main UPCET etc. Candidates are only admitted to the university after passing the PUCAT test, which is administered yearly. After considering all the specialisations, around 50%-70% of seats are allocated to the candidates who qualify the accepted entrances such as PUCAT, and JEE Main. For UG and PG courses, the CUET exam scores are taken into consideration for admission to fill 50% of seats. For courses such as BTech, JEE Main’s scores are considered to allocate 70% of seats, and the remaining 30% are allocated via the PUCAT exam. Some courses such as BCA and diplomas require the PUCAT exam after the qualification of 10+2.

The fee structure of VBSPU varies from INR 14,450 to INR 3.2 Lacs depending on the programme and its duration. The provision to pay semester-wise and/or annually is available for the students. The total expense also involves one-time fees and several other charges availed during the admissions. The entire bifurcation of the fee structure involves tuition fees, books/stationary, hostel fees, security deposits, and a few more amenities that a student avails of during the entire period of academia.

Hostels: There are four hostels for male students at the institution. The VBSPU hostels have amenities such as a dining hall, gym, study area, leisure room, and students' mess. The head warden is in charge of safeguarding the safety and security of students, and students are expected to abide by the laws and regulations of the hostels. There are two different hostels for females at the college. Each room may accommodate two or three people, and each student has access to a cot, a cabinet, a study table, and a chair. Every VBSPU hostel is well-equipped with all the amenities, including internet access, recreational amenities, a gym, common areas, etc.

Library: The university library is well-stocked with academic journals, newspapers, government publications, press clippings, and reference materials including dictionaries, atlases, yearbooks, encyclopaedias, and directories, among other materials. Sports: The institution features a sizable open stadium that can hold thousands of people and has hosted several university sporting events. The university offers basic facilities for conducting sports, NSS, rovers and rangers programmes.

The VBSPU ‘Rozgar Mela’ or the job fair is the University’s secondary support to provide placement support. Besides this facility, the University’s primary support is to make sure to prepare the students sufficiently enough to achieve a job based on their skill set. The University helps the students prepare for the interviews and gives job-specific training providing them with a more practical approach to the work ahead.

Yes, VBSPU has a placement cell known by the name of Central Training and Placement Cell (CTPC). The placement cell issues a planner which is with an every-year plan, wherein, the CTPC conducts orientation programs, special lectures/sessions, and life skill programs/workshops. CTPC concentrates on consistent collaboration with the recruiters which further brings in offers and deals for the benefit of the students. The companies and CTPC coordinate along to provide a convenient time to organize tests, interviews, and discussions based on the student preferences. A pre-placement talk is then conducted for all the eligible students, concerning their interests. After all these formalities, the companies and organizations make the selections based on all the criteria and then declare the results along with other necessary details.
