CSEET Challenging Section

Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test is a gateway to Company Secretary Courses- CS Executive & Professional. Candidates aspiring to become a CS must appear for CSEET examination after 12th. CSEET includes four subjects: Business Communication, Legal Aptitude and Logical Reasoning, Economic and Business Environment, and Current Affairs and Quantitative Aptitude. The upcoming CSEET 2026 exam is scheduled to be held in June 2026.

The above Shiksha poll indicates that Business Communication and Current Affairs & Quantitative Aptitude is considered the most challenging sections with 32% votes in each, followed by Legal Aptitude, while Economic & Business Environment is seen as relatively easier.

Q:   What is the total score in CSEET?
A: 

CSEET total marks are 400 marks. The question is divided into four sections of 100 marks each:

  • Business Communication
  • Fundamentals of Accounting
  • Economic and Business Environment
  • Business Laws and Management

For every correct answer candidates will get one or two marks. There will be no negative marking.

Q:   Is CSEET exam conducted in online mode?
A: 

ICSI conducted CSEET examination in online mode until January 2026. From CSEET June session 2026, the exam will be conducted in offline mode. Candidates must check the exam day guidelines to avoid disqualification.

Q:   What are the precautions to be taken to take CSEET exam?
A: 
  • Place camera in front of system.
  • Face must be visible.
  • There must be light in room.
  • Hair, clothes, or any other object must not cover face.
  • There should be no other person in room. 
  • Exam must be taken in SEB. 
Q:   How will the live proctors control the online CSEET exam?
A: 

Live proctors will watch the CSEET exam online. The process will be coducted as:

  1. Proctors will be able to chat with the exam taker in an active chat session.
  2. Proctors can also communicate with the test takers through a microphone or camera.
  3. During the exam, the activities of the candidate and screen will be captured frequently.
  4. Each session is finished either by the test taker, automatically after the end of the allotted time, or by the proctor. All audio, video, text messages and recorded events are saved in the system and are attached to the session protocol.
  5. At the end of the exam, the proctor will leave a remark (positive or negative) about the candidate. If there are no violations during the exam, then the proctor will mark the candidate positive.

CSEET Business Communication subject demands language clarity and conceptual understanding, making it challenging section. Candidates preparing for Business Communication section must have understanding of English language in corporate context. This section includes: Business correspondence formats, grammar, common business terminologies, and communication models. Hence, many candidates struggle with:

No, the Institute of Company Secretaries of India has not yet released the exam dates for CSEET October 2026 exam. The expected dates for Oct session is the first week of October 2026.

The ideal time to start practicing from CSEET mock tests is when you have covered 60-70% of the syllabus. It will give you an idea of where your preparation level stands and how much practice you need till exma date.

It is bad if you fail your CSEET mock test, as ICSI releases these tests only a week before the actual exam date and now you don't have enough time to work more on your preparation.

No, it is not mandatory to pass in CSEET mock tests. These tests are provided for candidates to get a clear picture of their preparation level and make them understand the types of questions in exam.

As mock tests will help candidates understand the exam pattern and question types to be asked in the exam, it is compulsory for them to appear for CSEET mock tests. ICSI releases mock tests a week before the exam date.
