Q: What are the salient features of the teaching methodology adopted by your college? How does this differ from others?
A: Some of the teaching methodologies adopted by our institution are Blended Learning, Experiential Learning, Quizzes, Debates, Student Reports, Presentations, and Case Studies. Only a handful of B-schools in our country follow all these teaching methodologies. To answer the question of how this differs from others, it is simple. We have the right passion, enthusiasm, and a proven system, so we are able to deliver excellent results one year after another.
Q: How are you preparing your students to be industry-ready?
A: At GIBS, we have a strong curriculum that meets the needs of the industry. Through a variety of exercises and activities, we cultivate an analytical attitude. Students gain problem-solving and decision-making abilities, as well as a broader perspective, via experiential learning. Students learn to accept variety and develop empathy for one another as a result of the campus's diversified culture. Students learn to be team members and, if necessary, to lead the team through numerous events and activities. We encourage students to take industry-related certification exams. Internships provide students with hands-on industry experience. A Dissertation is a mandatory part of the curriculum in which students have to do extensive research on a certain topic. Guest lecturers from corporate trainers bridge the gap between college life and corporate life.
Q: What are the qualities you are looking for in student applicants? What qualities do they need to do well in your course?
A: GIBS picks the right talent pool by following its quality standards. We take a student who has the zeal and potential to do well in life. Most of the students are initially tentative towards picking the right specialisation. We guide them and help them choose the correct path. As the guiding light, we help them to travel through the state of darkness or ignorance and towards light and greater heights.
Q: How do you ensure that your course curriculum is up-to-date and meets industry requirements?
A: GIBS has several notable corporate executives and alumni who are working at the top of their respective firms. They come to campus for guest lectures and actively participate in training procedures. We also connect with international faculty via online platforms like Zoom. With regular lectures, they also assist us in designing the curriculum based on the needs and requirements of the industry. The syllabus is tailored accordingly without compromising any of the AICTE or MHRD stipulations.
Q: Is your college receptive to innovation, technology, science, and entrepreneurship? How? Could you cite some examples of these?
A: As you are aware, we are among the first B schools in the country to implement IRE, i.e., Innovation, Research, and Entrepreneurship. In addition, we have GIBS Finishing School, which helps students transition from student life to business life. During the training, our students have the opportunity to begin a few ventures of their own. We assist them with all our resources and international network to grow and expand their ventures into successful businesses
