Chandigarh University introduces Nursing Courses; Establishes University Institute of Nursing
Nursing has developed as one of the most sought-after professions over a while. The fundamentals of nursing practices are the therapeutic relationship between them and the patient. Nursing at Chandigarh University
Chandigarh University (CU) has taken another leap in the world of medical services and has introduced the University Institute of Nursing. The UIN offers two undergraduate programmes in Nursing, which are BSc Nursing and GNM or General Nursing & Midwifery.
- BSc Nursing: A graduate-level course in Nursing, BSc Nursing covers all the crucial aspects of nursing and aims to impart thorough knowledge and know-how basics of the profession. The eligibility criteria for the programme require you to have your Class 12 or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% Aggregate marks with (PCBE-Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English) from a recognized Board/ University.
Also, the Minimum age for Admission is 17 Years while the Maximum is 35 Years on or before December 31 of the year of Admission. The candidate also requires to be medically fit. - GNM or General Nursing & Midwifery: The course of General Nursing and Midwifery deals with educating nurses in general health care, midwifery and nursing. The GNM course designed by the University Institute of Nursing amplifies the knowledge and employability of the aspirants wanting to pursue a career in clinical nursing.
The eligibility criteria for admission into GNM requires you to have your Class 12 with English with a minimum of 40% at the qualifying examination and English individually from any recognised board. Also, an applicant with Class 12 with English having 40% of marks in vocational ANM course from the school recognized by the Indian Nursing Council is eligible. The age criteria for the program is similar to BSC Nursing, however, there is no age bar for LHV.
