Established by Dr. Vishwanath Karad, MIT World Peace University in Pune launched a postgraduate course in peace and conflict management in response to the current needs. The course offers a thorough and all-encompassing education that goes beyond traditional frameworks.

Peace has been mankind's everlasting goal, an essential motivator for all our actions and potentials. It rarely happens that there is someone who opposes the idea of peace. It is a never ending quest and in its purest form is the dream of peaceful existence. Therefore, it is natural that humanity has long been willing to create organisations and structures, built to achieve the noble goal of peace. One of the biggest cornerstones of this initiative is the United Nations, whose goal is to "save succeeding generations from the scourge of war." It is a monument dedicated to this persistent search for a society based on the ideals of peace and cooperation.

In an age of unprecedented global challenges, with conflicts ranging from conflict between nations like Russia-Ukraine conflict or conflicts between different communities, civil wars in different countries, religious conflicts, environmental conflicts, and climate change, Peace Study emerges as a beacon of hope. Apart from the academic pursuit, it is vital to understand and navigate the diverse cultures, ideologies, and geopolitical complexities of our world. The process of building peace is a dynamic process. In the spirit of UNESCO, conflict begins in the human mind; therefore, peace should also begin in the human mind.

Pursuing peace and instilling the values of peace in the younger generation is a crucial step in realising the goal of world peace. It prepares the students to become world leaders, giving them the information and abilities to deal with the underlying causes of disputes and resolve conflicts. The study of Peace and Conflict crosses disciplinary boundaries to offer direction toward a future in which disputes become chances for communication and collaboration as we address the urgent concerns of our day. This interdisciplinary approach becomes a pioneer in tackling complicated international crises, workplace conflicts, intercommunity disputes, human rights challenges, or social justice issues.

Established by Dr. Vishwanath Karad, MIT World Peace University in Pune launched a postgraduate course in peace and conflict management in response to the current needs. The course offers a thorough and all-encompassing education that goes beyond traditional frameworks. By incorporating the rich tapestry of the Indian knowledge system into the curriculum and fusing ancient wisdom and cultural perspectives with contemporary peace studies, this course highlights a distinctive approach. The intention is to deepen students' understanding of various ideologies and to extend their perspectives by introducing aspects of India's rich legacy. The course also examines the culture of peace, exploring methods for establishing and maintaining peaceful surroundings on an internal, societal, and global level.

This contemporary curriculum combines the depth of India's cultural legacy with education of international standards, to give students a comprehensive understanding of peace and conflict management. These settings include academia, research, and international organizations that promote peace. As there is a need to work at all levels of society, they can also work in the fields of peace advocacy, corporate social responsibility, conflict management in corporate settings, and numerous international non-governmental organizations.
