From such an esteemed institution, many talented and famed people have passed out. At that time, maybe they were just the students of SRM University, but now they are recognised worldwide for their work in their respective fields. Here is the list of some of the notable alumni of SRM University

SRM Institute of Science and Technology, an esteemed college situated in Kattankulathur in Tamil Nadu, was established in 1985 as SRM Engineering College, under the University of Madras. There are around 50,000 understudies concentrated at this University. 

From such an esteemed institution, many talented and famed people have passed out. At that time, maybe they were just the students of SRM University, but now they are recognised worldwide for their work in their respective fields. Here is the list of some of the notable alumni of SRM University :

Neeraj Madhav

Neeraj Madhav, an Indian actor, rapper and dancer, was born on March 26, 1990 in Calicut district of Kerala. He primarily acts in Malayalam films. He completed his matriculation from St. Joseph's Boys' Higher Secondary School, Calicut. For his graduation, he opted Visual Communication and completed his graduation from SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kanchipuram, and afterwards did his post-graduation in Theatre from School of Drama and Fine Arts, which is located in Thrissur. He is well known for his role in an Indian web series, which is streaming on Amazon Prime Video since October 2019.

Ishwarya Menon

Ishwarya Menon predominantly works in Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada films. She was born on  May 8, 1995 and raised in Erode, Tamil Nadu. She completed her schooling from Bharathi Vidhya Bhavan Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Erode. For her graduation, she took admission to SRM University, Chennai, where she opted for an Instrumental Engineering course. Ishwarya's debut film was a Tamil film named Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Yeppadi. After this, she also debuted in Kannada Industry as Akshara with Dasavala. Her filmed Jogi, released on October 11, 2013, was well received by the audience.

Murli Vijay 

Murali Vijay, an Indian cricketer, who is a right-handed opening batsman, was born on April 1, 1984, in Madras, Tamil Nadu. Vijay completed his higher studies at SRM University, Chennai. Being a regular team player of the Indian Test Team, he also plays in the Indian Premier League from Chennai Super Kings and represents Tamil Nadu in first-class cricket. On  February 27, 2010, Vijay made his ODI debut against South Africa. He scored 25 runs in 16 balls. In 2010, Vijay was also selected for ICC World Twenty20 2010. 

Masha Nazeem

Masha Nazeem was born in Nagercoil in Kanyakumari District in 1993. She is an Indian inventor as she had designed a high-tech train toilet for which she was awarded one international and two national awards. She was just in eighth grade when she invented this hygienic drainage disposal system in trains. She completed her schooling at St. Joseph Convent Higher Secondary School. For graduation, she opted Electronic and Electrical Engineering at SSN College of Engineering. For post-graduation, she went to SRM University, Chennai, where she opted for MTech in Power Electronics. Now, in GEMS New Millennium School, she is an Innovation Lead at the United Arab Emirates.

Anil Kumar Yadav Poluboina

Anil Kumar Yadav Poluboina, an Indian Politician, was born on March 23, 1980. He completed his higher studies at SRM University. As he belongs to the YSR Congress Party, he was standing as a party member in the elections of 2014 and 2019 from Nellore City Constituency for Member of Legislative Assembly. In fact, he won the elections and was appointed as the Minister of Irrigation (Water Resources) of Andhra Pradesh in June 2019.

Nivetha Thomas, a famous Indian actress, Sharanya Ari, an IAS Officer, Varun Chakravarthy, a well-known cricketer, and a lot more have been students of SRM University. Just like these, there are many more students who have planted feathers in the SRM's hat.

COE/CE (Computer Engineering):

  • More coding-focused
